  1. "Pioneertown" ...another interesting place name! According to Wikipedia: Pioneertown is an unincorporated community of the Morongo Basin region of the High Desert in San Bernardino County, California, United States. It is an 1880s-themed town developed as a shooting location for actors working on Western films and TV series with businesses and residences. Must be a unique place to actually live, sort of like a Western Williamsburg.
  2. The title would make ne think it's got a great heater! Neat car! 1925 Nash roaster
  3. Apparently off the road for a while, and they must have lost the keys...why else would they take pictures of the interior through a dirty windshield. I think these are priced pretty much like a 356 Porsche, which means this is "in the ball part" and at the same time a lot more than it's worth, at least to me.
  4. I don't know how correct the interior is, but assuming there's a little wiggle room in the price I could live with it. I like to colors, but would definitely look closely at the "flaking paint".
  5. Unfortunate paint but seems pretty reasonable (as far as we can tell with no interior or engine shots).
  6. The original run flat tire! I wonder who can provide new rubber?
  7. This car is a bit like the recent '46 Cadillac with a '53 engine. The Fiat OSCA was built from '58 to '62. Siatas in the early 50's did come with a variety of engines, including Crosley and a few even had the Fiat Otto Vu (V8)! Siata started as a tuner of Fiat, similar to Abarth and most had their own Siata brand intakes and cams on the Fiat block.
  8. Or the 30K is what his old Aunt told him someone offered his uncle for this car a few years ago (which as actually 1989).
  9. Definitely something you don't see every day! Could use a different air cleaner! https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/siata/daina/1951/1018278 1951 Daina Sport in the very rare Berlinetta version, designed by Stabilimenti Farina. It was imported to France in 1979 and purchased in 2007 by previous owner from Belgium. Car still has French documents. The original Fiat 1400 cc engine has been replaced by an OSCA 1500 cc engine (FIAT 118.000) used in the Fiat 1500 OSCA Cabriolet. This gives the car 80 hp instead of 65 of the original engine. The body of the Siata Daina Sport Stabilimenti Farina Coupe has been fully professionally restored in 2010 to it?s original and full glory. The restoration is documented. The aluminium (except for the doors) coachwork is painted in a light green color. More information on our website: www.kucarfa.nl
  10. Good Call! You are very right to be suspicious. I have never seen one of these "in the flesh" but in the pictures the back window looks like it might be plexiglass. Not necessarily a bad thing...
  11. Yes, and then they missed making the wheels an even brighter color too! Everybody knows they should be!
  12. Could be a fun driver. But optimistically priced. Hope those dueling fans don't hurt each other. More pics in ad, but none of the interior or engine. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/oakland-1946-chrysler-desoto-fluid/7767822564.html Rebuilt Flat Head 6 Cylinder. 20K Miles. She literally purrs like a kitten. I converted her from 6, to 12 volt. Newly refurbished Carburetor, refurbished radiator, refurbished gas tank, rebuilt water pump. After market duel radiator fan. Body is pretty straight, just needs paint. Interior is ok, very small tear on driver’s side seat. Head liner needs some work. Unfortunately I can’t finish her, moving out of state. She has been sitting for over a year. I think she needs a new fuel pump, or it might just be a hose, due to a leak. I had a lot a fun in this car, but it’s time for her to go to a new home. This classic would be a back yard mechanics dream, or any car enthusiast. It saddens me to see her just sit. She needs some TLC to get her back on the road again. I put over 7K on all of her Upgrades. Im asking for only 8K or best offer. Serious offers only, and please no low ballers! Thank you. (510) 239-8610
  13. I agree, plus the reversed intake is relatively easy to un-reverse. In another decade or two, it will need paint again and may get another color that 60 years from now will be out of favor. It least it's still on the road and close to stock. That's not nothing. That said, I do enjoy and occasionally contribute to, the knowledgeable nit-picking we do here!
  14. 16. .He cheated death SO many times! Crashed as a mail pilot in 1922, very seriously crashed on a Eastern Airlines flight to Atlanta in 1941 and then later in the war, spent 24 days floating around the pacific in a life raft with little food or water.
  17. I never to a chance to discuss cars with my grandfather, but as far as I know, he only had two. The first one was a Regal underslung. the second one was an Essex very similar to this. Based on his first choice, this car must be a good performer.
  18. Now down to $6,500 with new pictures. Sure seems like a fair price to me! https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/d/hansville-1922-essex-touring/7766925657.html (360) 471-0947
  19. Rickenbacker is such a great story, both the car and the man. I've read a lot of biographies, but none come close to Eddie's story. Here's Eddie in his pre WWI Duesenberg days.
  20. This is such a big reduction I wonder if its a typo and they meant $19,000 https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/riverside-1950-packard-custom/7766872689.html# Same ad otherwise... (951)237-8466
  21. Looks like a fun driver...if I had the room I'd think about it. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/cupertino-1930-buick-46s-sport-coupe/7767162530.html 1930 Buick 46S Sport Coupe.
