  2. Could be some useful parts and I imagine the price might be flexible. (more pics in ad) https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/genoa-1927-nash/7729936524.html 1927 Classic Nash Advanced Six.. Great for Rat Rod/Yard art or if your really brave restoration? The Brakes Work For some Reason and believe it or not the tires hold air for about 30min? email: e851dc3134d63b178efac9e74dd3d7c8@sale.craigslist.org
  3. Might not take much to get it back on the road. That modern oil filter is a sign that it was a driver.
  4. I thought perhaps they were really a deep amber in person.
  5. Ad is already gone. Back in the answering machine days, I put an ad in the paper for someone to watch my kids (I was a single parent). Apparently I didn't understand the market for such services because I came home from work to find my answering machine maxed out at 100 messages.
  6. Not much garage space? Here's the answer! (more text and pics in ad) https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/temecula-1950-fiat-500c-topolino/7730031657.html This Topolino was purchased near Venice, Italy, (Italian registration documents included) by a collector where it was restored before being shipped to the US where it was placed in and remained in his large car collection in Charleston, SC for a number of years before my acquisition. I purchased the car in the spring of 2017 and have used it very sparingly since its acquisition. The odometer currently shows 70,151 kilometers (43,590 miles), which I believe may be accurate. The car starts, stops, runs and drives, although it will not set any speed records. It has a clean/clear California title in my name and is currently registered “non-op” with no back DMV fees, and because of its age, it is California smog exempt. (858) 705-1912
  7. '28 is a the top year for the 4 cylinder! Looks like a nice example with a price that's in the ball park. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/knightsen-1928-chevy-coupe-sell-or-trade/7729890502.html The car is in great condition and turns heads anywhere it goes it has had a lot of work done to it. The top end of the motor has had a valve job done with all new valves to except unleaded fuel. The car has been rewired using new OEM cloth wiring. (Trying to stay period correct) Other things that have been done, new exhaust, new battery, the radiator has been cleaned I had to replace the fuel tank due to holes, but I was able to find an original one. I know there’s a bunch of other stuff done I just can’t think of right now. I have spent years trying to find original parts for the car to keep it period correct. The car is a driver. What I understand it’s original paint and interior and they are in great condition for being a 96-year-old car and another nice thing is this car will continue to go up in value. If you have any questions, please let know. I’m open to trades and willing to put up cash, if necessary, I’m open to anything cool, classy, old school or fun. Sorry, no boats. Asking $15000.00 or best offer. I can send more pictures upon request. If you have something to trade, please send pictures. My main concern is if there’s a trade involved lets, please make it fair for both parties. (925) 418-2118

  15. Here's some info from Jalopy Journal: Lycoming made a large number of engines for boats and aircraft as well as all the engines for ACD. If you have a shop with a rate around $50/hr rebuild your motor and does a good job and rebuilds every thing you are looking at closer to $30K. There is only one or two places to buy new parts or have them rebuilt by someone who knows what they are doing. Here is some info about the motor. It is 289 cubic inches. The combustion chamber is cast into the block like a 409. It has roller rockers that that run directly off of the camshaft. The intakes and the heads are aluminum. It has three main bearings that are poured babbitt with a brass shell. They counter weights on the crank have to be removed to grind or polish the crank. The weights are held on by headless bolts ( the heads broke off when the were torqued at the factory) welded to the counter weight insure they wouldn't back out. The super charged engine ran a different cam and had a different firing order. It also had dual points distributor, a wider timing chain (for the super charger) and different exhaust manifolds. The super charger is a centrifugal design and runs directly off the cam by way of a ring and pinion that turns a planetary roller set to bump up rpms. It runs closer to 4.5 to 5 times engine speed.

  18. Seems like this model is the one most likely to be "fully accessorized"! https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/chula-vista-1940-chevy-master-deluxe/7728780267.html 1940 Chevy is in absolute exceptional condition. The exterior is finished in black paint and the body is completely straight with sparkling new chrome though the car. All original wheels, with new beautiful white walls tires. Has 3 on the tree manual transmission and as expected the undercarriage is completely clean with out any rust, rot our corrosion. Has new upholstery with in the entire cabin in exceptionally well-kept condition including the headliner and carpet. All gauges work with 011110 on the odometer with 12 volt conversion. Also has a regular horn with a siren. Runs and looks great. Asking 35k or best offer. (619) 874-4010
  19. Love that silly spinner on the continental kit. This one will definitely keep them guessing at the Cars & Coffee!
  20. To my mind, the drive line brake doesn't count if both differentials are "open" (non locking). I remember a story by racing driver Phil Hill that talked about his first car ( a T) and how he crashed it when one rear wheel was in a rather slimy gutter and so that wheel locked, allowing the other wheel to rotate freely, with no braking action. Seems like the "Hisso" might be the winner in adoption by a production car, albeit limited production.
  21. People get their hair on fire over EVs, but if you think about the history of the adoption of motor vehicles to replace the horse, you will see it was a very long process. Basically it took 50 years. The German Army had thousands of horses at the beginning of WWII, and some urban deliveries in the US were still made that way into the 40s. True, things happen faster now, and the governments of nearly all industrialized nations are trying to speed it along, but I doubt that anybody reading this will be "forced" to buy an EV. History can give perspective.
  22. Definitely! I had a '73...great car, made in Germany. The first time I took the spare tire out, there was an empty schnapps bottle underneath.
