  3. That is one crazy intake set up! He should have used string, rather than a rod...that way he could have hooked the end to the hand throttle to keep a stock appearance!
  4. Seems like you are thinking logically, and sometimes that's just not how it works, and I've got receipts to prove it!
  5. looks nice...but "small hole in the floor?" https://bend.craigslist.org/cto/d/terrebonne-1955-buick-super/7759225656.html 1955 Buick Super model 56r. Nice clean car. Runs and drives great. New radial tires. New battery. New shocks and rear springs. Engine is spotless inside. Carb rebuilt. Brakes redone. One small hole in drivers floor. (not repaired by me). interior is almost perfect. Have spare radio. Had the original fixed and working but when I installed it isn't (maybe a fuse). Car came from Klamath falls. Fuel gage inop. Chrome is excellent except for some minor pitting on the tail light chrome. Paint is good but does have a few normal chips. Only selling as I can only drive one of my 2. Not pressured to sell. email; 7fe7c2441ccf3fe1867974ca5d76505b@sale.craigslist.org
  6. I've always thought this was one of the best and most advanced designs of the post war period. Looks like a nice driver... too bad chrome is so expensive now! Long term ownership is a big plus! (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/san-francisco-1953-studebaker-commander/7757792635.html All original 1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner with stock 232 V8 engine. Great every day driver, mechanically sound. New brake shoes and master cylinder, new rear wheel bearings. Interior is tired, chrome is fair. 10. The top looks similar to my High School car, which was 10 years later and a more modern body style. You could fold the front portion back while leaving the rear portion up. Also, it true British fashion, it had so much carbon build up that it would continue to run for a while after switching off the ignition on a hot day. Henry Manney, who wrote for Road & Track, famously said "There will always be an England, because when the engine is finally switched off, it will still be running on".
  11. Such unfortunate color choices... No interior or engine pics. More text in ad. https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/sacramento-1936-buick-century/7758579565.html This 1936 Buick Century is an older restoration that was repainted in the late 1990s and features its reportedly original 233ci inline 8-cylinder engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. Features include dual side-mounted spares, seat belts, headlamps with integrated turn signals, amber driving lights, pinstriped 16-inch wheels, whitewall tires, original window glass and license plates, 6-volt electrical system, and a clear California title in the seller’s name. Car registration and insurance is up to date. The front floor is covered with a rubber floor mat, and the rear floor has dark green carpeting. This classic Buick with a light blue interior is available now and comes with its many additional and spare components. The steel dashboard is finished in black, with painted faux wood grain accenting the instrument panel and glove box cover. email: bb0f70cf8c1031efa36bfe03532c2f0a@sale.craigslist.org

  14. That is VERY interesting Steve! Any thoughts on how '41 came to be 1940 times five? Just being able to produce that many more would require massive additions to plant capacity, and you wouldn't do that unless you knew you could sell them.
  15. It seem like the survival rate for 1941 was better than the years preceding it. I wonder if people took extra care because the cars couldn't be easily replaced. Lots more text and pics in the ad https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/davis-1941-cadillac-series-63-touring/7758573799.html This 1941 Cadillac Series 63 Touring Sedan was refurbished approximately 10 years ago before it was purchased in 2021. The car is finished in green with a black roof over tan cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 346ci L-head V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. A replacement battery and exhaust components were installed under current ownership, and service performed in 2024 included the installation of a replacement clutch, manifold gaskets, and spark plugs as well as a rebuild of the water pump. The push-button AM radio does not work, the vacuum-operated antenna is removed but is included in the sale, and the right rear ashtray is missing its cover. email: 789812536ee832a3b1a952eb16f610f8@sale.craigslist.org

  19. I guess I'm the odd guy out, but I think it was decent effort and if you think about the "state of style" in 1978 is sort of makes sense. It's very difficult to do a "retro" style, just look at the PT Cruiser, 2000 T-Bird and the rest. Those bars on the skirts don't fit, and it needs a rounder grill, but again, thinking of 1978, I'd give a passing grade. But...All the proceeding is not meant to imply I'd want to be seen in it!
  20. I had to look that one up! I believe is was accurately summarized by Forest Gump; "Stupid is as stupid does"
  21. No much info but the price is much better than we often see! https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/d/las-vegas-1940-cadillac-series-72-limo/7758206784.html 1940 Cadillac Series 72 Limo Stick Shift Great original condition Runs and drives great 4 door (702) 454-1147

  23. Interesting that Melton and Clark were Bill Harrah before and Jay Leno has that spot now! I knew a guy who sold his Buick to Bill Harrah. Harrah used an intermediary and so it wasn't known that he was the buyer until late in the process. The seller suggested that he could knock of a big chunk of the price for a couple of nights of VIP treatment at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, but Bill said "that's completely separate". I never had the pleasure of meeting Bill, but I know from his biography that he was a real "straight shooter". The first time I visited his collection, I was over-come and had to sit down for a few minutes.
  24. Looks like an honest car...I guess that motor on the steering column is a fan that's lost its blades?
  25. My first car was a '59 Minx convertible, bought for $50. This one looks a lot nicer! https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/sacramento-1948-hillman-minx-convertible/7758037804.html Up for sale is this partially restored running 1948 English Hillman Minx Convertible project car with excellent newer paint, good chrome/stainless, new front seats, new tires and very clean undercarriage. Canvas top, door panels and back seat are original. We got the car running after it had been sitting for four years. We added new front brake cylinders. The car drives, steers and stops, however, should be gone through to make it safe and roadworthy. 90 of these left hand drive drophead coupes were imported into the US 72 years ago, and this one may have come from Canada. Powered by a 1185cc flat head 4-cylinder engine with a 4 speed manual transmission with a cool column shifter. Comes with extra parts and manuals. It can use carpet or a mat, new windshield gasket, weatherstripping and some wiring TLC. Cool little British convertible that can be enjoyed as is or taken to the next level. Ask for more additional photos and video walkaround. Located in Sacramento. $8500 OBO. email: 1dadeb58f627321cb90dc599fc9385cd@sale.craigslist.org
