  1. The Filling Station has as two parts . The Chevy headlights used same type . However I did find the new inside wire and insulator had to be turned down a few thousands to fit old original outers I had . However they may fit their shells with the armor flex cover .
  2. Our organization is trying to decide on selling there 1988 R30 RWD Suburban ,454ci ,double rear door . Is there some value above what blue book says ? We have seen others for sale and up to triple KBB . We only put about 800 miles a year on it in summer only to tow are trailer . So has very low mileage .And some kind of super torque convertor was added to it ,with a engine overhaul in '05 by a member . Location is east ,central PA. But by no means a rust bucket . As original owner only used same way for large boat .
  3. Do not used todays ethanol gas ,your carb gaskets or any rubber may suffer soon . Use non-ethanol ,does not need leaded .Leaded fuel is product of 60's I believe . Octane would be nice if lower but regular non-E is 91 .
  4. I second above . May be loose contact to arm connection . It looks to be were heat is . Try new set .
  5. Yes , making one would be next move . Figured since this is common Mopar design someone would have something . There is no drain in this channel so should fill it completely . Tried different size rubber tubings ,vac/wiper hose seems to ridge when stuffed in . Needs to be 1/4 sq with and extra dome top to it . Close to some of Restorations close cell ,just smaller .
  6. Thanks Knobless , but that's not it .I've seen those chevron shaped ones . To wide and note mine is higher than cowl yours recessed .jpage , I was at there tent at Hershey said they had nothing small enough ,just the same chevron type . I'll look the numbers up you gave .Restoration was helpful with windshield stripping and some fabric selection .
  7. Been trying to get the right seal for my cowl vent .Orders have brought ones that do not fit . It has only a 1/4" channel to fit in on my 31 Dodge Truck . Would like to see profile of yours . Maybe it goes over the edges ,or something I am missing . If you have a part number from a vendor better yet as none have clear pics of what they sell .
  8. Harry did you try You-Tube they have video's on testing coils with an ohmmeter . Just to make sure as replacing can get expensive . May just want to hide a modern one on firewall inside .
  9. Yes , that is not it. There is the throttle hard linkage hook up ,with the extra arm seeming like it had to pull upward from shown position to advance throttle .
  10. He did mention the many applications and hand throttle . I did not know separate hand throttles cabled to carb as mine goes to linkage . Here is other view . The throttle pump is missing ,but overall is good with no rust , a little of original tag under screw but choke frozen . I'am not sure I bought to use a display or trade for (D)RJH-08 228s for my '31 truck with PA =UT engine . Any one have a pic of that hookup hand cable ?
  11. Picked up this carb at Hershey .Looking to find out what the extra arm is for on it . Talked to Carbking was not sure may be to advance distr. as it only functions on acceleration of throttle . This may also ID it's engine and vehicle . The one my finger is on .
  12. What size nuts needed ? Will be looking at Hershey tomorrow .
  13. Jay has a couple I think . Pre 1939 Chrysler his handle . I assume it is Lockheed type with remote reservoir .
  14. Good , I guess his Jersey accent had me hear Stavens not Stevens . Did not get name, is on the car in the window . The other if recall is 1908 just plain Stevens ,with a Wakasha 4 cyl engine . Attach is pic of inside or grey one . Do you know what it sold for?
  15. Is this the car type your talking about . I thought the gentleman said they where Staver's And Duryea . I saw at local show last month . The two owners were from NJ. .
  16. Yes ,mine are similar to Chevy type one spring each side. But on knuckle side, is on outside , steering side on inside . The good news is spring is replaced . I used a master leaf from '29 Chy 62 ,almost identical . Had to reduce Tryon shackle pin .060 " to install in backend after removing bushing . The front bushing was good and in better shape then mine . This spring must had be broke along time . Wear in shackle caps and bolt also in through bolt in spring assembly show . Got new bolts , grade 8 's but flipped caps and will have to look for replacements . A few notes ; The pin is surfaced hardened ,use carbide . Maybe be easier to loosen all nuts and bolts before lifting . Remove straps from axle before raised all the way . This will allow jacking just enough to get bolt head out of axle plate . Then remove shackle and front holder bolt with no strain . Do a search on Tryon shackles ,Spinney post one years ago . I had trouble picturing the assembly tightness till read . Attached pic show donor spring assembly , truck assembly master leaf replacement with pin and half of broke one , and top helpers . Once again thank you to all .

Do your search as SAE 140 , that's the common number . NAPA has Sta-lube 140 in gallons , Lucas has 140 in quarts . Amazon sells . There is a SAE 85-140 muti also . Just make sure it is GL-4 rated for the brass gears and bushes . I got the Sta- lube and the pump from Amazon good pairing as you can not pour it , it is so thick .
  18. Yes after studying the link can not be reversed ,ends different . So will get pic of a good one from another owner and see. On the tie rod issue ,after visit to my mechanic buddy we concluded it was beat apart driving the ball and plug partial out bottom . Was able to set back in with dull chisel around edge and then hit center to flatten and expand just like block soft plug . In worked perfect , so back on the truck . Next is leaf spring . Is there manufacture numbers on the drag link any where ? That may help verify .
  19. I thought it was rubber ,maybe your right . Will do some more searching . Got mine off tonight . Either previous repairers beat the ball out the bottom when changing wish bone or from the accident that broke the spring . See attached for type . To repair I would have to unroll bottom rolled over seam lock and install disk back in and stake shut . Do able but not fun . Got all springs nuts, loose today will remove over weekend . Another problem noted was drag link does not seem proper ,it is rubbing shackle hanger bolt . Suspect it is on backwards, changing may put offset earlier before bolt .
  20. Nice looking job !! Is that color a mix custom or formula ? Mine are to be same .
  21. Wtk if any one has info on tie rod end for my 31 Dodge / Graham PU . Told Dufoc te2 is match was looking for crosses and would like to install ones with spring and disk rather then rubber cap to match existing . Only need left side . Also found left side master leaf spring is broke , over helper is holding together . I found a Chrysler of same physical size . Plan change out with the broke master , the rest do not match . If anyone has left tie end old style let me know .
  22. Just learning this my self . Understand the neck 4 digit is model overall , the 855xxx if it is on top of filter section is that component check under pump section for second long number . Sometimes maybe you have to get parts separate to build your own . tom
  23. Good going ! Yes based on numbers I figured it was going over 7 o' clock ,whatever works .. See how the springs on moving part work be sure to hold shut to take stress off small tabs when closing . Temp hold together to check . Do you have any pics yet . want to see what where working on . The fuse under the dash , if it like mine on amp gage, the rivets where loose giving bad connection . I removed rivets and put in tiny 4-40 brass screws from Lowes then soldiered the clip to the bus brass .
  24. Do not know , unless the detent for 7 o'clock low beam is bad . How is it turning even or hard to left . You do have low beam on truck ? Hook meter up and see if 1 and 4 make as it is turned . How is dash wiring going ?
  25. I have not yet , It must be small leak as over a year nothing has gotten down to switch . Just a little to bottom of box can wipe from, for time being . Chrylser has same switch different number 4XXX something .
