  1. Grog: Back in the day I had a similar issue with a plug but don't recall the brand. Just bought another plug and moved on as I recall because the car had been driven.
  2. Steve a minor note of interest. The 50 or so rare 63 Z-11's were delivered to Chevy dealers with a certificate of origin but all were destined to premier racers of the day. I am pretty certain none of those were street driven or titled. So.... there are about 17 or so documented restored ones so just wonder what happens if one not lettered as delivered to a dealer shows up at a national show. Another stellar entry for 36B. I hope I am at that show!! I'll try to get the 62 Pontiac SD to that show as it is now recognized with an AACA car number. Robert
  3. The 62 SD that I showed in Virginia Beach last year is an excellently done fully restored vehicle that has no sanctioned race history although it certainly had some street race history down in Florida I am sure. The car is legally tagged and insured in the state of Maryland. I drove it onto the show field admittedly with fouled plugs and the carbs not adjusted properly for the event. Maryland has some strict rules governing tagging or the ability to tag certain types of vehicles. The very simple conclusion, it is a limited production vehicle Pontiac sold and I believe they didn't have a warranty. The owner of the car also had a Grand Prix SD which was also tagged and driven almost daily back in the day. These cars were a limited production vehicle and I believe a large number of them were not professionally raced unlike the 50 or so famous 63 Chevy Z-11 vehicles that all had a racing history but were limited production but still had the ability to tag them. These cars should be in the appropriate class 36 structure. I would enjoy having my 62 409 along side a 63 Z-11 at a national show. Robert Street
  4. Since 63 is one of my "watch" cars I'll take a stab at it's value since there has been no response guidelines. Without photos at about $1,800 max. Body condition will be important on this one as engine and transmission really takes away. Robert
  5. Annie since you are down there in NC you should go to the Hall of Fame event at the old track October 1st featuring a couple of older racers who raced there. No.......RealSS wasn't on the program in his number 84 Pontiac!!!!! Robert
  6. At the Virginia Beach show last year I transported and prepared a 1962 SD for a friend. The car is street tagged not driven though and was driven unto the show field by me into 36A. Oh, it is a correct PHS car. Even got a first Junior for it. The comment someone made about looking for these on the field was accurate as most folks walked by it without paying attention but the one's who did know were impressed Robert
  7. I say none although the 70 Chevelle SS has possibilities as the 70 Corvette with the solid lifter motor. I guess I am not interested if it isn't solid lifters and two fours! Robert
  8. I also enjoyed the new location as class 36B was near the crossover under the sign. Lots of traffic that we have never had at the old location near water tower. Many folks that came across the highway went to our location as they did not know we were not the for sale cars inside! I heard a comment that the for sale cars are very nice down here in Charlotte while he was actually at our AACA location! And our very own restroom facilities. Maybe next year more food vendors yes I am congested due to the pollen and my car is a dusty mess like everyone else is in those winds. Here are a few photos of cars near me and of course I had to put mine in the photos!!
  9. In Maryland titles have a soundex number on them which is your license number easy enough to query the database of vehicles titled to you. I suspect PA has a similar system. I noted the law quoted does not specify GVW so most of us have smaller utility trailers that are under the Maine GVW. Robert
  10. The 61 SS was not exclusive to a 409. Nor was the 62 SS exclusive to 409's. Robert
  11. I also am a big fan of 24 foot trailers for cars especially for storage of stuff. I have an ATC 24 aluminum 5200 axles. Since you already have a 3/4 ton diesel tow rig you are good to go but be careful of too big of axles on steel trailers as you can wind up in commercial DOT territory with a high GCVW. As mentioned low level lighting is a must as well as a planned location for the side door so you can walk out of it! Robert
  12. After a 10 hour tow back from Charlotte last year I skinned a mailbox with my ATC at the driveway. My dealer has told me that ATC makes a light weight panel that is applied over the "skinned" one and good as new. Anyone done this! Got my national award down there so I shouldn't complain! Robert
  13. MacBook Pro for me they just keep working smoothly easy to use. Robert
  14. I bought the external system. it works great. Country Traveler I noticed Pittsburg Power in your list. I hear they did get into a jam for some of the work they were doing with the ill fated egr engines. Too bad I hope they come out ok from the tenacales of the Feds. Robert
  15. Any comments on the tire safeguard internal system vs the sensor that screws onto the cap. Robert
  16. Question for both of you. What brand tire transmitter TPMS are you using. Also which manufacturer of tracking transmitter are you happy with? Robert
  17. Due to high chassis weights of steel trailers I believe we will be seeing more aluminum trailers offered. Robert
  18. Neat cars I recall working on one in NC. I still have a big Holley carb that might have come from one so must look at the numbers. Robert
  19. I used to tow with 1500 6.2 GMC Denali had two of them. 10,000 GVW trailer loaded scaled to 9,400. Finally got smart and have a F350 diesel. Best change I ever made as the 6.2 didn't have the torque and was doing much shifting thus very high transmission temperatures. I'd stay with the 2500-3500 Dodge or F250-350 Ford diesels for towing. My two cents of opinion Robert
  20. Is the information available for the number of car corrall entries? Robert
  21. I also would like to say thanks to the many Hershey members for putting on the event. I think the Saturday show visitors was very high in my 36 area. I know how many cars were registered but wondered if there was a way to count spectators. And the spectators along the show field route was numerous. Anyone have a photo of my car entered. It is in the avatar photo Robert
  22. Great news as you are under 26K so no CDL or DOT registration unless truck or trailer is tagged in a business name! Drive but make sure your equipment is hooked up correctly and tire capacities are over the trailer sticker. Robert
  23. are you sure about that truck number? If so you are well over 26K and into CDL? I'll have to look that combination up. If stopped in Maryland you will need a CDL medical card due to the trailer but from out of state I don't think you will have any problems. Oh, make sure your chains and brake safety pull cable are on correct and that the tires are capacity correct as I have been pulled and checked for that previously. Robert
