  1. Motorcycles with FI systems use fuel shut off switches too for the electric pump in case the bike is in an accident or falls over. One of their sensors might work in an auto system too. Terry
  2. Great work, John. I never had any talent in that type of work. Thanks for sharing. Terry
  3. An advertising fan for the 6 cyl Chevy. I'm guessing 1929 or 1930. Found it recently in Lititz Pa.
  4. I managed to find a 1937 Dodge 1/2 ton pick up about 25 yrs ago that satisfied my old truck need. These days I just collect old auto literature as the days of working on my own cars is long gone. Still, I appreciate the link. Terry
  5. There are brass bicycle type air pumps I have seen with the Ford logo on them which I guess we're used on Model Ts and recently I saw a spark plug type air inflator for sale at an antique shop. We are lucky to live in a time when flat tires are uncommon! Terry
  6. Neat story, Mark. A REO Mack Jr. Sold locally several years ago at public sale. It was all original and owned by a home repair contractor. It brought crazy money as there were lots of Mack collectors that wanted it. Terry
  7. Finally got a picture to load. Had to find a photo resize app that allowed me to lower the pic resolution so that it would work. Might have something to do with my local ISP speed for upload that was causing the error I was getting. The app is called SimpleResize and is free and simple to use. A good combination! Terry
  8. This photo from a local estate is marked July 13 1915 at Devils Den in Gettysburg PA. Looks like it might have been a social group or just a bunch of tourists! Not sure of the make of the bus. Terry
  9. I have that same scooter! 1964 Vespa VNB 125cc. Got it for FREE about 15 years ago. My boss owned it and I had helped him get it running. He let it sit in his garage after I got it running and did nothing more with it. One night his wife put it out for the trash as she was tired of him not using it and taking up space in the garage. He called and told me to get it before the trash men did! I brought it home, cleaned it up and got it running. Nice little bike! Terry
  10. Remember that 1983 Z-28 I told you I bought new and the issues it had gave me a love / hate relationship with it? My car had the 5 speed std trans in it. When I drove it in hot weather it would nearly stall out when I went to pull out from an extended stop like sitting at a traffic light. Cooler weather like 75F or below was no problem. I took it back to the dealer under warranty to figure out what was wrong. They had the car for almost a week and then gave it back to me. The trained GM mechanic said the problem was "it has one of them computer controlled carbs on it" and he was not sure how to cure it. The carb would lean out so much it would almost not run when given gas. Later, a GM service bulletin recall was for a faulty evaportive canister control that was allowing gas tank fumes to be sent to the carb when the engine was too hot to burn them properly. The carb was not the issue but was just responding to the signals sent to it. The new canister control did the trick, only took 1.5 years to fix! Terry
  11. Not sure but it could be. I want to research it more. Terry
  12. Yes it is. Not sure about the truck behind the horse team. I also have a pic of the quarry too. There are some old cars visible in the barn behind the quarry. Looks like a happy group on the truck! Terry
  13. Bob, I tried using full version but had no success. I guess I will have to try it again. Thanks for your reply. Terry
  14. No problem posting text to the forum but trying to post photos from my iPad doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to do this? I have little to no access to a PC. Terry
  15. Found this photo recently at a local estate sale. I think it was from a quarry in Lititz PA area. The truck has a 1924 license plate on it.
  16. That had to be one heavy freeze! Did that stuff in my youth and got wiser with age, no more of those projects for me!
  17. 1917 PA license plates are not porcelain, they are painted steel. Are you sure of the date on yours? 1915 was the last year for porcelain. Terry
  18. Good news on the job! I can relate to your situation. In May 2012 I was stuck by an Suv that pulled in my lane from a side road. I was driving a motorcycle so the SUV was the clear winner in that meet up. I lost my right leg and had a spinal cord injury that left me paralyzed from the waist down. No more job, had to sell my old cars, and find and modify a rach house to live in. All this just before my 60th birthday. It's been 3 years and adjustment to my condition continues. As for a job, not much call for a one legged para! Hanging out here keeps me involved in the hobby. I hope your job works out well! Terry
  19. I bought its cousin, a 1983 Z-28 new in 1983. Had a real love / hate relationship with that car! It too had the 305 w quadrajet carb setup. A great looking car for sure but was plagued with many bugs that made driving it frustrating at times. You can start with a clean slate here and have fun learning a lot about these cars. You sure got it for a good price! Terry
  20. Looks similar to the setup on my 37 dodge Terry
  21. 1968 Plymouth fury. It was the high school driver training car. A massive beast! MC test was a 1972 Honda xl250, in February, in PA. I did not want to buy a second learners permit so I took the exam in Feb. darn cold day as I remember! Terry
  22. Somewhat funny but a poor way to describe the item for sale.
