  1. Great thread! I had a 1951 chieftain as my first car so your pictures bring back lots of memories. Terry
  2. Yes I still have the pin, and yes I have decided to sell it. As for the price I am asking $70 for it. Send me a Personal Message if you are interested in it. Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  3. As said before the spindles are the same for 34 and 35 as listed in Hollander. My pre war NAPA catalog shows Monmouth kit A-127 should be what you need for kingpins and bushings. Now that was the part number in 1943. I looked at several other cars in the catalog to see if the A-127 number showed up on any other make, like Packard, gm, mopar and so on but I didn't find it used anywhere else so that is not good news. A 1940's King Products catalog shows the kingpins to be K-1140. That number seems to be for years 1934-35 only. Not looking good for an easy fix. Terry
  4. Here are photos. I think its a 1929. Inside is marked The Stant Company, Connersville IND. There is a number C-2629. It has the look and wear of an original cap. If it is not 1929 maybe someone can identify the year. Terry
  5. Yes. I have an original with good wings I was going to sell sometime. Send me a personal message if you are interested. I am located in PA, east of Hershey. Terry
  6. All of the ones I have seen were in boxes labeled Lynx Eye at the top of the box and the car brand on the bottom. Never have seen one from any auto company. Terry
  7. You could list them here in the buy sell area. With over 6000 views on this thread you have made a lot of contacts that may want to buy these items, and listing them is free! Terry
  8. Hello Phil, this item is still available. I will send you a Personal Message (PM) from this site regarding payment options. Terry
  9. So the auctioneer has updated his ad in our local Farming News paper. He has added this information: 1924 Ford Model T touring Car Fully restored. Moldel A Rumble Seat- Needs restored. I did not see them in the pictures provided. As for the Packards it says: 2- 1956 4 doors 1934 2 door sedan 1935 Packard roadster Old Packard touring?? A very poor listing on the AuctionZip website for this acution. Not sure I would ever want him to do my auction. There is a facebook page too for him called Hunter SaleBarn that may have more info. Terry
  10. On this site selling is a LOT less of a hassle and I appreciate all those who have taken the time to buy items from me as I continue to downsize my collection ( and resist the temptation to buy more with the proceeds!). Terry
  11. Hello Dan, The posting rules on this forum request you include a price and location for ads like yours. Sounds like an interesting auto. A picture would be helpful too. Terry
  12. No one is perfect. Nice car. I always hoped I would own a red one with a white top. A 1:18 scale version was as close as my bank account would allow. Good luck with the sale!
  13. When I sold my 37 Dodge Pick up it was running and driving but far from restored. I did not want it to go to a street rod person but when you sell it you have no control. I did find a buyer that was in to Dodge trucks and not street rod. He came with a really nice 1955 Dodge dump body truck and trailer to take it home. It was nice to see that outcome. Be who knows, that was 5 years ago and maybe now it is a rod. Just have to enjoy the memories you had with it and go on. Terry
  14. Thanks for the response on the mileage. It is a neat car at a good price. Terry
  15. Found this sale advertised in a local publication. Lots of farm stuff and JD tractors and 5 Packard cars and parts including at least two very old cars. The black 30's car looks very interesting. The auction company seems to be more focused on the farm items than the cars. Sale is July 19th in Nottingham PA, near the PA border with MD. Note- I have no connection to the sale, just passing on information. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=2154709&category=0&zip=&kwd= Terry
  16. Thanks for the link, Dave. Seems like the Marion-Handley was not too popular of a car. I doubt any still exist. The box of pencils was from an estate sale. There was another one in the box that advertised a dealer in Lancaster PA that sold Plymouth and DeSoto 6 and 8s. The DeSoto logo was printed on the pencil and its the early 1930's sheild logo. I have a postcard too from the Lititz dealership from the 1920s. By that time he was selling Chevrolet and Carter Cars. Seems like the dealer was always carring some other "different" brand besides Chevrolet. Terry
  17. I would love to park it next to a 1957 Chevy and show them what a REAL car looks like. Good luck with the sale and I'm glad this is way out of my price range!! Terry
  18. I just found an old advertising pencil, a basic yellow #2 type with eraser on one end, that advertises two automobiles available at the Jno. F. Longenecker dealership in Lititz PA. One of the autos is Chevrolet and the other is a Marion-Handley auto. I have never heard of the Marion-Handley auto brand. Anyone ever see one?? The same box of pencils contains one advertising Reo and Maxwell cars and trucks at Zimmerman's Garage in Manheim PA. Terry Lititz PA
  19. I don't know if they do any business at Hershey. I looked up their phone number, its 717-392-6263 and the correct spelling is Alex Gerz. Hope this helps. Terry
  20. Alex Gertz radiator shop in Lancaster PA has been fixing auto radiators forever. They were recently featured in a news story in the local paper where they made a radiator for a rare early car. Terry
  21. Are the the type that let's you see the color of the spark and combustion? Might be similar to the color tune devices I have seen for sale to help adjust air and fuel mixture.
  22. Hello Richard, I have a 1930 Willys-Knight sales catalog for sale in the Willys section of the forum. If you go there I have a picture that shows the engine and describes how it works. Terry
