  1. Matt, It was great meeting you at Hershey abd being able to sit and talk with you and your wife for a bit. I always like to remember just a few things when these little things that seem so big happen to our old cars. A friend has a newer Dodge pickup. Diesel with the def system. He has had constant problems out of his truck. They have accused him of trying to run without the def fluid. Dealer has literally changed out every component at one time or another. Truck still under warranty. He will not even try to drive it to work 30 miles away because it is so undependable Neighbor called me to help him the other day. His new Volkswagen wouldnt start. A little bit of corrosion on the battery terminals literally caused the computer to not recognize the key fob in the car. It literally lost the key code. The dealer has his car still. They say shouldn't have happened, and are actually able to duplicate this at their shop after reprogramming the fob back to operate the car. My daughters Jetta has performed flawlessly all summer long. Last week she informed me, (since mornings are colder) that her car is stalling at stoplights. Starts right back up, but stalls. No codes, cannot find anything wrong or loose. Guess it needs to go back to the dealer also. If my 47’ decides one morning it doesnt want to start, or backfires or loses the air out of a tire. I will very happily fix it and be on my way, maybe later than expected, but sure that I will get where I am going and riding in style. Matt keep your head up. Your cara are beautiful and you do a great job!
  2. I guess I can post this here as I won this award because of the car. Tonight was the Scranton AACA installation banquet for officers and I was awarded The Roy Clark Award. Felt a frog in my throat. I feel so proud to have my name on this trophy among many others. Matt
  3. Didnt really drive the car tonight. But, our Scranton AACA Region had our annual Installation banquet tonight. The Buick and I received the Roy Clark Memorial trophy. This award is for a club member who has restored a car and had it present on the show field at our yearly AACA event. Was a great time and had a great turnout for the event. Matt
  4. Turn the light off and run the engine. If is sparkplug wire grounding, you will see it in the dark Matt
  5. Went to an orchestra concert at Marywood University tonight. Was High School kids from all of the area and clear down by Philadelphia. My son played in one of the groups and my daughter is the President of the National Association for Music Educators in our region and was organizing the event. Drove the Buick. Had the top up and quarter windows. Wasn’t too awfully cold. Snapped this when got back in the garage.
  6. Where are you located? May help you find one more local to your location. Matt
  7. You should be able to click right under where it says reply to topic above. On your screen, it should have another “button” that says administrator or moderator tools. Click that and then select delete. Matt
  8. Got the Buick out for about an hour and half of touring backroads yesterday. Looks like I missed all of the res leaves by a day or two. Really happy with the Buicks performance and very satisfied with the pictures Matt
  9. Seems like I managed to miss most of the red leaves. I was able to get out and take some pictures this afternoon after work. Sure is Buickful......
  10. They announced many times that pets were not allowed on the show field, yet saw many people with their dogs in tow on the field. I also saw several golf carts shoot down the aisles of the show field. The personal mobility carts are one thing, but a golf cart hauling around 4 people is quite another. If they are going to be allowed on the show field, they should have to have insurance in case they hit someone or a car. There’s a lot of money on the show field. A simple “I’m sorry” will not suffice in a case such as that. Matt
  11. The car was the only thing there and I misstated by saying for sale. The extra clean was gone and a “SOLD” sign was in its place. Looked like they had already packed everything else up and were preparing to leave Matt
  12. Car had a for sale sign on the window when I walked by. Then when I came back around, it was gone. Matt
  13. Maybe not a best buy, but a Buick buy. Always wanted neon in my garage Matt
  14. Made what I think are some excellent purchases this year 1. Authorized Buick neon sign. 2. some15 x 8 triple chromed trim rings for the 1977 Corvette I am working on with my 14 year old son 3. Front fender emblem. 4. A set of new t-top inner pads from a vendor that had bought them and never installed them when he sold his car. Price was right!
  15. Safe travels. Keep it between the lines
  16. Was really great catching up with everyone. Having a few beers and talking about Buicks. Met some new people. Matt Harwood, john DeFiores son, (name is escaping me at the moment) and many others. I managed several scores on things I was needing, caught up with some old friends and managed to make seceral new ones. Cannot wait for next year. Going to run the tires off my convertible going places. Managed to finally catch Doug Seybold and introduce myself. He already knew who I was. Just needed a face to put with the name. Have to say.....car people are the best people Matt also forgot about Larry DeBarry??, saw and talked with Pete Phillips on the show field Saturday. Met a lot of people who had cars 38-41 on the show field but weren’t members of the forum. John Steed, Ed DePouli should have been in the picture, but was demonstrating his putting trash in a can from 15 ft away for $5.00! BTW, I still have my $5 in my pocket.
