  1. I am quite pleased to see the work done on this car. I had always thought my convertible was a long shot when I started. Many said I had lost my marbles when i bought it home. No comparison to the work that was done on your car
  2. Not being mean, but hopefully the buyer is aware that the wood is nothing close to correct and all of it will need to be redone. I think Greg did the best with his abilities, but hopefully the steel is in really good shape and the woodwork can be done correctly. There were enough pictures posted in the ad that nothing was really hidden...... Matt

  4. So, removed the pressure line and hooked up a gage dead heading the pressure to check full pressure on the pump. Had a steady 255-260 psi which should be well within the range of the system. I will try lowering somewhere between 220-230 psi when I return from vacation. Then I will revise the other valve I have and swap some parts around and try again. Matt
  5. I would imagine it could be. I have seen other parts, more intricate made with that process. If they (hydo e lectric) will have parts soon, I see no reason to reinvent the wheel over again. Thanks Matt
  6. After talking with Hydro E Lectric, the bakelite was reused, and not replaced because it looked ok. So, I asked it replacements are available, but they are currently out of stock. My name is on the list for a replacement. Meanwhile, I found another valve in my spares that the bakelite is not cracked on. So, I have everything to check the pump pressure with and will do so tonight. Will have to disassemble this other valve, clean and inspect for cracks after I return from vacation. Matt
  7. So, pullet the top valve out of the car and disassembled. The bakelite base that bolts to the aluminum valve base is cracked. Not sure if this part was replaced when rebuilt, or if the old bakelite was reused. Will call hydro lectric this afternoon to see what my options are. Matt
  8. The Scranton Region of the AACA had our show today in the sweltering heat. There was a really nice breeze across the show field. I had never been able to get my car to the show for one reason or another over the last 5 years. Today she was first on the field at 7:30 am. My job was to make sure the show cars were parked in their correct classes. This is the only two pictures I was able to shoot today, being so busy helping out. The first at 730 this morning. The second, which to my surprise is of the two trophies my car was awarded. Had a great day
  9. We had a very good show, despite all of the excessive heat warnings. There was a good breeze across the show field all day. Thanks to all who supported the Scranton Region and attended the show. We had a really good public turnout also and the afternoon showers stayed away. Matt
  10. Bump back to the top. Look forward to seeing anyone close by at the show on Sunday. Come have a great day with a bunch of great people.
  11. Was revising my pictures and this one definitely has to go in this thread. This, my friends, is what it is all about for me. Owning a 40’s Buick convertible is like nothing else. My wife’s expression says it all. Matt
  12. So, haven’t reported anything in my convertible in awhile. Been driving the hell out of it. So, this Sunday, the 21st, is our AACA region meet and will have the car on the field for the first time this year. All of the hydraulic cylinders and lines have been replaced, the valves rebuilt and a rebuilt Moraine pump. So, yesterday, my son helped me mount the pump under the fender, I wired it up and tested function before filling with atf. Filled with atf and cycled the top up, and back down. HOW EXCITING! Next was to try to see if the windows would work. The drivers window cycled up about 1/4 of the travel, so I let it down and tried again. The second time it went 1/2 way up. So, I checked the reservoir and tried one more time and the top valve blew out the seal and drenched under the dash and the carpet. Pulled out the carpet and took to the carwash to wash all of the atf out of the carpet. Left outside in the sun all day to dry.. Will take out the valve to see what happened and see how much pressure the pump was pushing. Supposedly, the pressure was set by the rebuilder, and the top worked well. Hopefully is just a failure in the valve. More to come
  13. Sounds like the linkage assembly came apart somehow......hard to tell without being able to see under the car. Good luck!
  14. The date for the show is the 21st. The rain date is the week after.
  15. Allied Services Home Health 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 (570) 348-2200 https://goo.gl/maps/zQhAuqYXe9Jn8PEz8
  16. There will be a rain date of the 28th if Mother Nature decides the 21st she doesn’t feel well. Matt
  17. We welcome all to attend our 48th annual Collector car show. Please reply if you have any questions or need any more information. Look forward to seeing all who can make it. Matt
  18. Welcome. You just joined! Looking forward to your progress
  19. I have rust free body available if someone here purchases this car. Needs a couple small pieces of floor pan replaced. I cut two small sections out for my convertible. Matt
