  1. Saw this Chevy today. I know it isn’t correct, but take a look at that engine compartment.
  2. Drove a whole 5 miles to a local car show today at the Scranton School for the Blind and Deaf. Was a beautiful day. Quite a few cars. Only 3 Buicks. Mine was awarded a Top 20 pick certificate and $50.00 which I donated back to the school. Matt
  3. Being in a museum does not indicate it will be well cared for. Mostly dusted off. Never run. Actually worse for a car to be in a museum. No exercise.
  4. If it runs locally, why would it not run out of town? I run my car 30-50 miles every time I am out. I wouldn’t bat an eye taking it further out if needed be. Some people like the petronix and others have same or worse trouble with them than when running points/condensor. keep it original and maintain it. You will be fine Matt
  5. Didn’t realize how dark it was when the cloud went over Matt
  6. Had my 47’ out for ice cream. About 30 mile round trip. What a beautiful afternoon after 10 straight days of rain.
  7. Find and lubricate all of the accelerator linkage points. I had the same problem with my 56’ and ended up being the problem. Matt
  8. I have always, since i was a kid, been able to take things apart and repair them. Bikes, radios, small engines, big engines.... Everyone started calling me a jackofalltrades. I’ll be 49 in August and I have had the pleasure of working on Model A’s and T’s. Auburns, Rolls Royces,Jaguars,Harley Davidsons and many other makes and models. Bulldozers, Tractor trailers, etc. now I interface 6 axis robots with machinery..... the 70 is year I was born.
  9. I removed mine out the bottom. Remove the knobs, the nuts underneath, unplug the antenna and the power. Loosen the two nuts, one each side at bottom. Pick up a bit and slide it back and should slide right out the bottom.
  10. Thanks for checking back in and letting us know you are reading the help given. let us know how you make out and if you need more help Matt
  11. I had purchased this to use with my 56’ Buick, but have since sold the car and my other car is a 47’ convertible, just let the top down. It is missing one of the window brackets, but should be easy enough to fabricate one. $400.00 firm Thanks Matt
  12. Read the small tribute and brought tears to my eyes. Never knew them, but has to be hard. There are mo words.....
  13. Was a beautiful day yesterday and so I took the convertible to Marywood University for music practice with the wind ensemble. We are practicing the music for the graduation ceremony right around the corner. The Director of music loves my car and asked if he could sit in her. Of course..... My tuba sitting by the car in the first picture.
  14. My 56’, someone prior to me had shoved small pieces of rag in the transmission cooler lines where they unscrewed from the tranny and then reinstalled them without taking out the rag pieces. That is what cooked my oil in the tranny. Matt
  15. Scott, they are the same. I purchased almost all of these parts for my car.
  16. Penn Dutch restorations may be a good place to start. They are usually very busy, but Jeff there could probably point you in the right direction if they cannot. He frequents the forums. Matt
