1953 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Body Bushings
jackofalltrades70 replied to 99WestCustoms's topic in Buick - Post War
Your best bet is to purchase a 53’ shop manual. Maybe someone here has one and can scan the pages that have pictures of the body mounts with shims, etc. I would also suggest that just putting in the mounts and bolting it down will not be your solution. Your name suggests a custom shop so be prepared for shimming different mounts for proper door shutting and alignment at the door latch where the tub meets with the door. Good luck Matt -
Does it still have the original drive train? If it does, and engine is free, they usually don’t take much to get going again. An engine swap means front to back, rear end and all. Still yet, is your car and you know what is best for your situation. Good luck and welcome aboard Matt

Sounds like your car may have sat, unused for awhile and the seals may have dried out. You may get lucky and with a little bit of driving, they may seal again. You should try to purchase a 56’ shop manual ao you can see how to repair the leaks. We like pictures! Please post a couple of the car. Matt

A little bit of automotive art to the walls. Will not be adding any shelves on the walls. Two garage cabinets along the side walls and the green caninets will be painted white later. -
My condolences to you and the family. Matt

Weather changing and still so much rain! Haven’t had the car out, but still working hard regardless. ? 15 years ago when I build the garage, i never taped and finished the sheetrock. So, have been taking down shelves, re-organizing, mudding and painting my way around the garage. It is amazing how much “stuff” we accumulate. Been throwing out a lot of stuff that was out of date, or was for reference during my build and long forgotten about. Also, listed a few things for sale here and there. Matt -

Suchion Cup marks and Haze on New Windshield
jackofalltrades70 replied to Mark Gregory's topic in General Discussion
Haze that reappears inside of the windshield is usually caused by the plastics in the dash “heating up” in the sun. Not sure about the suction cup marks. If you have this documented that they have tried to repair before, they should replace it free of charge because “they” attempted to fix it prior to the over 20,000 mile mark Matt -
Park Pawl Repair 50' w/Dynaflow
jackofalltrades70 replied to beerczar1976's topic in Buick - Post War
If the 50’ is anything like a 56’ there is a separate adjustment for the parking pawl other than the shift linkage. Just my two cents abd worth checking in to. Matt -

Purchase a 1947 Buick 56-C!!
jackofalltrades70 replied to Scott Farrington's topic in Buick - Post War
Please do yourself a favor and drop/clean the oil pan. Do’t just change the oil. There will probably be thick gunk in the bottom of the oil pan that needs to come out. You will thank us later. -
1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertible
jackofalltrades70 replied to jackofalltrades70's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
The purchase also includes a two door rust-free body for repairing the rusted floors and rockers. For the right money, the trailer it is sitting on goes with it. It is a 10,000# equipment trailer. Matt -
