  2. I am chasing the left side tail lamp bracket (stalk) I am coming to Detroit in June so postage won't be a problem Any leads will be appreciated Thanks in advance Ron ( I believe that the bracket is a cast steel item)
  3. Ray if the cut out is faulty and sticks closed the current is drawn from the battery regardless of what position the ignition switch is in If that is the scenario then the generator is acting like a starter motor but because the wiring is to light to carry the required current you end up with lots of smoke and burnt wires
  4. On the tow board stamped on an aluminium tag and on the frame near the rhs rear spring hanger of the FRONT spring It could take some finding as they were stamped lightly The number should begin with the letter A Hope this helps Ron
  5. Hi Bob Thanks for your reply I will try and buy one when we come over for the Centennial Celebrations The cost for postage makes it prohibitive otherwise Hope to see you there Ron
  6. I am seeking both left and right ext rear view mirrors for a 1961 Plymouth Valiant I live in Aust but will be in the US in June for the DB centennial celebrations Any leads will be greatly appreciated Thank you Ron
  7. Having the polarity wrong should not cause the problems that you experienced I agree with the chocolate man you have a serious short somewhere
  8. 9. MY wife and I are coming to Detroit for the Centennial Celebrations and I am wondering if any one has the Dodge Story Book for sale I had one given to me by my father in law years ago and being the trusting bloke that I am I loaned it to a new club member Well he did a runner and I lost my treasured book and would really love to be able to replace it but not at some of the Flea Bay prices So if anyone knows anyone coming to Detroit and the want a sale please get in touch Thank you Ron
  10. That would be great mate but up until 1928 Dodge Brothers Motor cars were completely different to Chrysler with no or very few parts being interchangeable Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Chrysler Cars ( I own one) It would be like having all the different marques made by GM all in one bucket I don't think it would work Thanks Ron
  11. Hi Kudos 202, You will find that your Chrysler has an Aussie built body on it and they differ from the American built ones Your body was most probably built by TJ Richards or Holden Body Building Co Have you tried the Chrysler Restorers Club they are in Sydney and meet at Five Dock there are also other clubs in Victoria and South Aust Hope this has been helpfull for you Ron
  12. Myers Early DB Parts sell both fiber and metal Our early 138 cubic inch Holden engine had a fiber gear which failed at around 80000 miles there were after market alluminium ones available they seemed to last much longer
  13. I purchased a new harness ex eastern states ( I live in West Aust ). That was 7 years ago and when I checked the prices this morning to make a comparison between Aussie And US prices I cant believe how much they have gone up in price. I am glad I got mine when I did. The reason I had a gander was that if Aussie prices were favorable I could have brought one with me when we come to the DB celebrations in June. Prices work out to be on par with US prices so it was a fruitless exercise Cheers Ron
  14. Victory 6 and Senior 6 engines are different What parts are you looking for Ron
  15. vintagecarguy did you get my private message that I sent you Thanks Ron
  16. Vintagecarguy If your Senior is a 1927 It is a 2249 series This model was made from May 27 until Dec 27 From Jan 28 until June 28 it became a 2251 series Both Series are almost identical body wise however there are changes to the engine power out put on the 2251 and the drive train was different Open drive shaft on the 2251 compared to a torque tube setup on the 2249 I have been led to believe that even though the 2249 series were built in '27 both it and the 2251 series are classed as 1928 models I think that is where the confusion is with the parts that are advertised as for a '28 will also fit a car made in '27 I hope that I haven't confused you too much There are many Dodge Brothers owners on this forum that have loads more knowledge than I have and I am sure they are able to help if I have missed something They are ever so helpful Looking forward to seeing your pictures when your car arrives Ron
  17. Hi there Vintagecarguy I have just realised that you are new to these forums What model Senior 6 do you have and what body style I am restoring A 2249 Series with an Australian Tourer body My car is the same as Gundogs Can you post some pictures? Thanks Ron
  18. Hi Anthony, That may be so too. The information that I posted came from the reproduced 1914 to 33 Dodge Brothers master parts cd and I believe there are some doubts to its correctness Thank you for your input

  20. Hey mate there is nothing wrong with being a loving and caring parent I suppose that if the nut has come off since you last dropped the pan and it is sitting in the bottom of the engine and is not causing any problems I guess that is OK I would put another nut on to hold the gear when you re assemble though It would be a real bugger to loose a key down there too Ron
  21. Great set of instructions Looking at the end of the starter shaft where the gear fits there looks to be a thread to take a retaining nut to hold the gear on the shaft The nut is not playing hide and seek somewhere down in the pan is it?
  22. Have you tried Myers Early Dodge Brothers Parts Or Romar Dodge Parts
  23. Hi GH Thank you for your reply I thought along the same lines that they were some sort of graphite mixture Have to work out how to make some replacements now Ron
