  1. I was working on a total loss that I had just bought,I had a brand new Morgan knocker that I hadn’t even used yet im sure some of you know what a Morgan knocker is,it’s a slide hammer with a 10 lb weight,Ithis was 40 years ago when they had a big washer for a stop,I put the knocker on the wheelhouse and without thinking I put the washer behind my leg I said to myself something is wrong looked around for a second before pulling the weight back, instantly caught my leg between the washer and the weight,I dropped the knocker and dropped my pants right there,my leg was already purple,

  13. Both of my grandfathers and my father where coal minors in West Virginia,my dad was forced to quit school in the 8th grade and work the mines, that was late 30s in early to mid 40s my father went to driving coal truck, after a confrontation with his father he packed us up and moved us to ferndale Michigan, then a couple years later he brought the family to southern calif the golden state, calif in the 50 s was hard for a guy with little education,he worked in a steel factory and the oil fields, when he was 62 they tried to put him on a forklift he wasn’t used to that so he quit and went to work for a truck stop mounting semi truck tires,at 65 he was told to work the warehouse because working the island didn’t look good for the company, three months later his home was sold and he moved to Montana where he got a job stripping logs for a log home builder, stripped logs till he was 81 years old retired and died four years later
  14. Growing up my mentor in theantique car hobby had a 1928 Lincoln touring that he had purchased from gays lion farm in El Monte calif,it had an original running board spotlight a big bail handle typethat looked perfect on the Lincoln, after his passing the car was donated to the Lincoln museum where it was sold a couple years later,I saw the car which I believe was the same car up in Utah in pictures, someone had removed the running board spot light, looked wrong after seeing it for years with the light

  18. Hello everyone, and thanks Tim for the kind words,I would really love to have a spare shell and grille I’m just not going to step up to that price, good luck selling it I think maybe a rat Rodder will end up with it,listen I wish everyone happy and healthy holidays, hug the ones you love, forgive the ones you don’t,Tim tell your dad I said hello, Dave
  19. I own two devauxs,I am always looking for parts because of the obscurity of the vehicle,in 31 the shells where chrome and painted,in 32 they where advertised as all chrome,it’s hard to tell because there are few 32 s,but my 32 standard three window coupe had anall chromed shell and it was. Bottom of the line model,if the shell is reasonably priced I would be interested,I don’t need it but who knows what the future holds, you can message me with price and we’ll go from there, Thank you. Dave
  20. I never used it until the last couple of years,my daily driver is a 1993 Chevy s10 pickup with the4.3 v6, at about 170000 miles it was using a quart of oil about every 1800 miles,I changed to Mobil one synthetic and the Lucas oil stabilizer now I get about2700 to 2800 miles to a quart, also use it in the automatic trans, dave
  21. Ken,I’m sorry I know how frustrating it must be to have it that far along and not be able to finish and drive it,I’ve seen so many cars parted out early on that now would e some ones pride and joy,I didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes, when I was young my dad and my antique car mentor always said if you don’t save them who will,I guess I’m still a little punchy, sorry if my comment was out of line, Dave
  22. Don’t part it out,if you have two build one body and a set of fenders build two,I understand trying to help others and that’s commendable but once there gone there gone forever,
