  1. Wow over 10,000 views, my only wish is that Dale was still here to see. I am still trying to figure out what I ever did in this world to own this piece of history. I would like to think Dale loved that car so well that he knew that i would cherish it as much as he did. I know that I will see him again.
  2. Wow, what memories. My second car was a 1948 Packard 4 dr. sedan. It had an electric clutch. You could get it going about 15 mph in first gear, let of the gas, The engine would slow to an idle. Waite a few seconds and stomp the gas to the floor and squeal the tires. I used to do that on main street just for laugh's. Hey, I was only 16.
  3. Matt, I know from having a car that may be a little weird and not the run of the mill at a car show. I do no care about a trophy, because my trophy is talking and answering questions about the car, like Who made Hupmobile.
  4. Wood was standard, disc was optional. Kelsey Hayes made a special wood wheel that I have on my 1928 Model A Hupp roadster. but not able to show a pic. The Model M Hupp had optional wire wheels in 1928. The 1929 Model A Hupp roadster and town sedan had wire wheels as optional The Models, H and U , S and L had wire wheels as optional in 1930.1931 and 1932. Maybe I missed some but that will tell you what you want to know.
  5. Type hupmobile car club on your search. Scroll down to Hupmobile Club- Clubs-Hemmings
  6. Mar Mark, your Hupmobile did not come with a temperature gauge in the cabin. It set on the top of the radiator. Hupp first started using a temperature gauge in the cabin on the dash in the 1931 model L. If you are not a member of the Hupp club, all the questions you have could be answered for you by the tec. guy on you Hupp model for FREE. We have members that specialize in all the Hupp models and are a great source information. May be one of our members may know what to use for a torque value for the nut.
  7. Wow, as a Hupmobile Guy, I am overwhelmed, another 1936 Hupp Model G 618 . As a charter member of the 50 year old Hupmobile club, I am asking Brent, the owner to P M me before he decides any action on this car. P M is a private message. Thank you
  8. I am a mechanic, not a computer wiz. This is the pic I had to resize.
  9. The first 2 cars are 6 cyl . on a 118 in. wheel base. Flat windshield. My Model N has 121 in. wheel base and 3 piece windshield and 8 cyl. engine
  10. My Hupp has a factory overdrive called Hupp Super Drive. This car has 4 wheel hydraulic brakes 12 in x 2 1/4 in. and loves 55 to 65 Mph. The members of the Hupp club call it the White Tornado.
  11. Wow 2 tail lights, wheel trim rings, factory installed radio, deluxe trim on hood and doors and bustle trunk and 2 handles. 101 Hp. 6 cyl. engine makes this a deluxe model. If the serial # would verify that this is a 1936 Hupp Model G its 1 of 53 built in 1936. Not sure of the year I bought 1 of these in Mass from Ernie Gunther just for the good grill The car is complete but needs a total restoration. The grill is made of pot metal and is very fragile. I thought of having some cast from my good grill, but with the low production on the G and N which were the only 2 models that share the same grill I thought I may not sell enough to get my money back. Below is a pick of my 1936 Model N that shares the same grill and hood ornament. The N is an 8 cyl, 120 Hp. with a factory over drive and is 1 of 21 produced in 1936. Not to blow my horn, BUT I am the only member of the Hupmobile Club that has 1 of these cars running on the road. My pic are to big to load, I will try to resize them and post later.
  12. Maybe the color would look better if it was a little softer.
  13. Maybe Mr. White is like my grand son, he just started a career as fire fighter/ Emt, a new baby and just bought a house. That could be the same thing for Mr. White. My grand son thinks I can walk on water so maybe Mr White thinks the same of his grandfather so he will fix the Hupp when the time is right. Just my thoughts.
  14. Could you post the year , month and how long the cars would be needed please. Thank you.
  15. I Just received a phone call from my doctor that what she is seeing on the pet scan is inflammation and not cancer. She is a great doctor. I trust her judgement very much. With a lot of help and support, we kicked cancer.
  16. Well I just thought that with 5 vehicles fully insured and I can only drive 1 in the winter to save a little money, being on a fixed income just put them on comp. Thank you for the comment on my health issue. I will be having a pet scan this next Thursday to see if I am cancer clear. I will post the results when I find out. I love my Pierce Arrow but, if the cancer is not gone, I will have to sell it.
  17. Lump, I have also advised this person about the Hupp club, seems if it cost money, he is not interested.
  18. Put the car in winter storage. Called the insurance company to take off the total coverage, to put in on comp, fire and theft as the car would not be on the road until May 2020. I was shocked when they said we do not offer comp insurance.I have 2 cars and 2 trucks on comp insurance with another company for the winter as I do not drive them in the winter. I will not say who the company is but it is one of the most expensive company out there.
  19. Thank you, Then what is it?
  20. Not the expert on the Pierce but I would say its a 1933 Model 1236 Salon Club Sedan
  21. If no one gets back to with a pair of them, you may want to find a good black smith and have him make you a pair. Food for thought.
  22. They also brought back the Model H in 1938 . It was an 8 cyl.
  23. Did you happen to see the 1 on Pierce Arrow-ebay, its says its for a 1934 and does not say the make, maybe, its a Ross?
