  7. Guys, this has probably been on here before, but have been unable to locate. I think I want to change the gear ratio of my '50 Special from the 4.1 to 3.6 or 3.4. I know they are exchangeable up to '55. What I DON'T know is , are all series compatabel or must it be from same series? Ben
  8. Sorry to hear that, Aaron. Hang in there and keep your chin up. Ben
  9. Does the oil line fitting go directly into the head -or- does it go into another fitting in the head? Ben
  10. A partial picture of the standard steering wheel. Ben
  11. John, I believe I would run a compression check on those two cyls . Just to remove any doughts. As to the oil line restriction, if it is the same as later models, and I believe it is, the "restriction" is in the fitting that the oil line from the filter, if so equipped, connects to at the front bottom corner of the head. Even if no filter the oil pipe to the rocker arms still connects same place. You can see it in this photo. Ben
  12. Nice going, Glenn. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. Ben
  13. Welcome, Randy. Nice car. I owned a '71 wagon. Great car. If you are not already a BCA member, please think about joining. Ben
  14. Nice going, Robert. Did you get a pic of the Wifey with her head under the hood??:D:D Ben
  15. Guys, I know a lot of folks pull the diff/ rearend back with a chain falls or a comealong. BUT removing the bottom spring bolts eliminates this. The rearend will just roll back. Ben
  16. David, I do not know you, but someday, perhaps, the pleasure will come about . In the meantime keep on keeping on!! Ben
  17. Robert, you probably have one or two in there now. They are just spacers. If you have one, you can make more if needed, using origional one as a pattern. Ben
  18. Robert, Mike has described the shims for the torque ball. The shims for the thrust pad are about as long as the pad, probably about one inch wide and 1/16 thick. With slots on one side to slide over the bolts between the pad and the mount. Ben
