  1. The Fiat in the original post doesn't look like a Ferrari either. Not my idea of a Ferrari. It will end up as a "Chevy Fiat Impala "
  2. I see several bare spots that look like all the good cars have recently been removed.
  3. Why not just buy a chevy impala and save yourself a lot of aggravation?
  4. The material looks European, German maybe?
  5. Can you stitch broken pieces back together? I thought stitching was only good for filling cracks.
  6. On a related issue, replace your shop/garage florescent tubes with LED tubs. I replaced 24 - eight ft tubes at work 10 years ago and haven't had a single failure or dimming. Those lights are on at least 10 hrs a day 6 days per week. We have 20ft ceilings and put in daylight brightness. Soft white are available and might be better on lower ceilings. Huge difference between daylight LED and dim yellow florescents, but they will really improve the lighting in your shop. You can buy LED tubes that can plug directly into balast/transformer fixtures or tubes that can be wired direct to 110. I chose to rewire our fixtures to use 110 v LED. Ballasts can go bad and get hot and may be a fire hazard.
  7. The little square LED chips that make up the replacement bulbs are typically 3 volt with proper voltage reduction built in. Some very in brightnes by voltage but I assume the LEDs used in automotive application are the Schottky type, meaning that once the voltage reaches a threshold, it comes on at full brightness. Any fluctuation in voltage above or below the threshold will not effect brightness, so lights do not dim as the generator rpms slow to idle. There are direct plug in replacements (no modification required) for the some of the common vintage auto bulbs, but you have to order the correct replacement for your cars battery system. Restoration Supply has a chart of direct replacement LED bulbs listed by the old incandescent bulb #, voltage, and ground polarity. Example: Old bulb #1154, double offset base is available for application: 6 volt - gnd. order part # ELE456. 6 volt + gnd. Order part # ELE 457. 12 volt - and. Order part # ELE458. As a side note. Most 6v tail light buckets do not have reflectors. Paint the inside of buckets and socket bracket hardware with gloss white enamel. Gloss white will create a brighter, rose glow that not only improves night visibility but also creates a brighter brake light contrast in daylight.
  8. Perry Mason often had high end Deluxe model cars he or his girl Friday or clients drove. The chief of detectives he was always sparing with drove a 58 Buick 2-dr hardtop with a continental kit.
  9. Brass cars were THE antique cars in the 50s. 30s, 40s, cars were used cars.
  10. It's a 32 model A at a v8 price. It may be for sale for awhile. But if it was listed $10,000 lower , some hotrodder would chop the top and drop a chevy 350 in it.
  11. That is an odd spark plug and valve configuration. I'd like to see more photos of the engine and head if you care to post more. I have a 1-cyl Cadillac which has an odd arrangement too. The plug and exhaust valve are overhead but the intake valve is "over there" on the mixer casting.
  12. Not with that interior. As cheap as the interior looks makes me wonder how cheaply the paint and body work etc. was done.
  13. Its really not a terrible car for the price. I could use a tow vehicle too. Seeing the missing letter on the hood reminded me of the guy in high school who had a 50 coupe. He rearrange his letters to spell DOG.
  14. Looks like 1905 model F Cadillac 1-cylinder.
  15. You don't see many 4-dr cadillac sedans of the late teens and 20s. More than half of production of those years were 7 passenger touring cars and the rest were divided among the other body styles.
  16. Does it fart methane like cows. That's not good.

    Mixing epoxy

Epoxy instructions say to mix on non porous surface. plastic not paper.
  18. But,,,, Cadillac did put a 452 with mechanical brakes in a car like this the following year.
  19. My 35 Cadillac Fleetwood has the microphone element built into the post between the rear door and quarter window. There is an ivory push button below it. Speaker above driver's head. I have seen early brass era limos that were a hose with a trumpet like funnel at each end.
  20. I must have read the same article. That's how I restore. It never made sense to me to spend a lot of time to dismantle a car and end up with a pile of rusty parts. Repair from the ground up dry fitting as you go . Then after you get all back together, tear it apart again to paint, then reassemble again. Chassis is the last thing I restore. Chassis gets painted and assembled once and it smoth sailing from there. (Usually).
  21. I'm getting conflicting vibes. I'm thinking of coming from Ohio. Is this going to be the prewar/brass meet that was like the Bakersfield before Covid ?
  22. This is simply called a 5 passenger coupe. The Town coupe has a boxy looking trunk versus this better looking round deck. These later V12s are the ones to buy. They have better carbs and a fuel pump. A new distributer with automatic centrifugal advance was phased in in 32. I can't tell if this has the new smaller diameter cap or the early cap without its round cover. The improvements gave the 12s more rated HP than the 30/31.
