24T42
Question: OK-if Dave berg gave a shorter speech than "I do" it must be easy to remember. What did he say?Comment: Thanks for posting the pictures. Instead of 1 long row, could you have a couple of shorter rows. On the other hand being on dial-up, by the time get from the end of line back to the larger picture it is loaded. Never mind, that works. Just Thanks.
novaman
I use the filmstrip sytle gallery so people don't have to wait for all the photos to load if they aren't intereted in some of them. The gallery for saturday has 80+ photos in it.As for his speech, I said it was the shortest other than theday he said "I do". I don't remember what he said..I wasn't paying attention. I ws in shock and too busy taking photos/video . I some how became the photogragher for the Judge's Newsletter. (John's camera wasn't working.) As for not paying attention in class, I took my judging school in Philly and was there mainly to get some photos anyways.

R W Burgess
Thanks David, You had a job to do, a professional job of picture taking. Photographers don't pay attention to the words just the "moment". I appreciate you taking up the slack for me. Terry Bond
Congrats to the 1st Capital Chapter for another super meet in New Bern. Everying was great and even the weather man was cooperative! Not many trophies left over Saturday night and lots of smiles, including ours with a suprise 1st for Susans MG. Who says you gotta trailer em!Terry
novaman
ditto that on the congrats to First Captial Chapter.Trip home was a mess. Got hung up in bumper to bumper traffic in Goldsboro. There was an airshow there Sat. Just before getting there it started lightly raining. The closer we got to Raliegh, the harder it rained and still bumper to bumper. When we merged from 70 to I-40 I hit a "pocket" in traffic and sailed by a lot of people (there was a concert that a lot of people were heading to). Dad called me on the cell phone because mom and he had lost me in all the spray. I was about a mile ahead of them. It wasn't to long 'til they caught back up. I had to be careful as 60 was top speed for me. Above that the car became a handful to drive. I'll have to realign the front end.Oh, and congrats to the Bonds. So it really must have been nice. I'm a big fan of the GT's. I didn't see Susan. Was she there?
Terry Bond
Good to see you there West, I know you got lots of great pics there. Yes, the car is Susans (both of them are-she had the black one over in DPC. She does all the work on her car and the maroon GT restoration was just as much hers as mine. I got the pleasure of driving it and cleaning for the show. We were surprised since we built it as a nice driver actually. In fact, our shake-down cruise was 1200 miles to Gatlinburg Tn last June, and we've driven the heck out of it since then including the 200 miles to New Bern. Susan was there but was tied up with Judging chores too. We got lotsa work to do for a Senior but are inspired to go for it. Terry

I'm not sure of how many belong to NC Region members.

Steve Moskowitz
Mr. Peterson,Composition, composition, composition....nice pictures of dumpsters! Just trying to make sure you don't get to big a head with all the compliments sent your way!
novaman
#15 - 1934 Dodge Brothers 1-1/2 ton Truck#23 - from the badges, where the cars of this area where parked, the background in the photo, and the show vehicle listing, I'm concluding that is is the 1903 Packard Touring that was in class 09A. The only others of that era were a '02 Rambler going for senior (this car appears to have it already), a 1904 Rambler (have Photo of it) and a 1908 Maxwell Tourabout and I'm sure this car isn't that.#25 & #34 are Ford chassis fire and mail trucks

Ye, of little faith. When photographing at National Meets, my main concern and battle is finding a location that provides adequate composition AND good lighting, but I have to also think about the logistics of getting some 20 vehicles to a location that owners can find with simple directions (unlike Hershey, where I can print out a map because I know beforehand where I'm going to be), within a time-span of only about two hours. My first-choice spot at New Bern would have been easy for car owners to find, but... (1.) I didn't realize that show vehicles were going to be parked there, and (2.) I would have been fighting a crowd of people all afternoon (nasty reflections, and VERY time-consuming to keep people away). I had to quickly back-pedal the morning of the show to find an easy-to-find yet compositionally okay location. Fortunately, we had a cloudy day, so I did not have to battle high contrast (except for the last couple of cars). With Photoshop, I knew I could eliminate those dumpsters, the relatively modern air-conditioning equipment on the roof, and parking signs, although that is time-consuming as well.Attached is the Willys photo "all cleaned up." Compare and contrast. Now, talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic: "The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy nor Roman nor an empire. Discuss. MCHinson
Yes, West.... It looks much better without the A/C equipment and the dumpsters.****Before any of you (except Steve Moskowitz) get upset with the following, it is not a generalization... it is directed at just one individual....... West, don't worry about his complaints.... you know some elderly people just get cranky when they have a headache..... Actually, I hope you are feeling better Steve.....
West Peterson
You know that Pete Townsend rewrote the line in his "My Generation" song, right? Steve Moskowitz
I guess I had that coming by trying to interject a wee bit of humor into the forum! Although, seeing our esteemed editor open himself up for criticism with dumpsters in the picture gave me an opening I could not resist.Yes West, I am old! I now have been told so (long story that I do NOT wish to repeat). I went out Monday and got the Geritol, walker, Grecian Formula and all the other ecoutrements! As far as the "headache" goes I sure hope it gets better soon...getting the staples out Monday. MCHinson
Steve, it is apparent that if Dave Berg knows any embarrassing information on a friend he makes sure that he does his best to keep it secret.... he only shares it with a few hundred of his best friends.... Don't let the SUV's manufacturer find out about it.... The next thing you know we will all see a little anti-liability sticker on each door saying "remove head from path of door before closing door to prevent serious injury"Get well soon and thanks for all that you do and the good humor that you exhibit when subjected to this type of abuse.
