I just saw the deleted post from this thread. Guys, don't make this a bad thing...all 3 organizations will share equally in the proceeds !!! This is a joint effort and in some of flyers the names are listed in different order. I need to find you guys a happy pill! There is no problem here and it is the first time we have attempted to have all 3 organizations work together for the good of all. Hopefully, the membership will support this idea and by the looks of things so far they will. I have sold over 20 this morning...

Ok boys and girls, no one is in the doghouse over this thread! Well, except Hoover since he is always in the doghouse! I did not delete the responses and they were benign anyway, someone else did. I do want to emphasize though that we are working together on this project and want to make sure everyone knows it! So, leave Mr. Rick alone...he needs to finish a whole bunch of cars and we all know he has "banker's hours". Seriously, Rick is a great member, deeply respected by me and has supported AACA magnificently over the years. Straight arrow guy...still incorrigible though!

FINALLY!!!

A raffle with a prize worth winning!

And better odds than the lotteries!(1 in 20,000 on the dollar! 1 in 2000/entry!)

With the proceeds going to OUR club(s)!

You guys could list on eBay to sell some outside the club as well, if the members here can't fill the bill.

Buying 5 tickets ($250) brings the odds down to the 1 in 400 range!

50 tickets ($2500)would make it 1 in 40, for a $25k+ sportscar!

It is the intentions of everyone to be selling tickets at all AACA events and non AACA events to be honest. Since each board member from the Library & Research Center, Museum and National were all sent tickets to sell I would say you want have any trouble finding a board member to buy one (or more) from. Plus most National Meets will also have a booth set up selling the tickets. But since I am a board member of the Library and Research center why don't you save the trouble of having to wait and buy one from me now, grin.gifsmile.gif. Seems like most of the other board members are pushing on the forum as well so I guess I will join in the fun. And since there are only 2000 tickets being sold, they may be all gone by the time you get to a Meet. I have some now, and would be glad to put your name on one or more, grin.gif

Sir, thank you for asking the question. I HOPE the answer is no! We do have a chance to sell this raffle out early and that would mean we are not represented at all national mets and tours! One of the museum board members already has committments for 80 tickets. I personally am over that figure and will not rest until I sell 100. One Region has taken 100 tickets and if our board members all sell their allottment we are over 1,000 tickets just from them. We can ( must ) sell the 2,000 tickets!

Editing note - deleted one of the extra 0's making it 2,000 tickets! oops, thanks Brenda but 20,000 would be nice! (steve)

Thank you, sir. I guess I had better not wait until the Reliability Tour in New Hampshire to get mine. I can't make Hershey this year and I like to buy late and hopefully be on the top of the pile when the winner is drawn. I know they spin the drum, but every little edge helps. smirk.gifgrin.gif

The Pontiac Solstice must be a very popular car. If you do a search of Pontiac Solstice raffles on google, you will find a quite a few organizations raffling off the car.

Some of these raffles might have cheaper tickets, but these usually have at least over twice the amount of tickets to be sold, lessening the chances of winning. There are also some offering tickets at $100.00 each. In addition, most of the other raffles I have seen either do not have a cash option, or if they do, the cash option is thousands less than the AACA is offering.

When I made my first "pitch" to a person for the AACA raffle... they seemed very hesitant until I mentioned the prize was a Pontiac Solstice, at which time they immedately said they would purchase two tickets.

Looks like the Pontiac was a good selection and the AACA has a good raffle.

Received a photo of the actual raffle car from Steve today (see attachment). This is the car will be given away in October. Loaded to the hilt with options. Just had to share it. Wow ..it looks good.

What's this?

Mike's made so much money at Philly all of these years, that he can open a Pontiac dealership?

 • 4 months later...

Hi, Greg...

Let's put it this way. As of last Friday at Macungie, there were about 240-244 tickets left. Here we are one week later and I was informed today that there are only 47 left.

These are going fast, folks. I would not wait until Hershey to buy one. You more than likely will be disappointed. Spread the word to any friends, or, relatives that are laying back until Hershey.

The odds are so great, that, at the Dover Grand National, the manager of the slots parlor and 2 employees bought 6 tickets stating: "They know good odds as they are in the slots business and took adavantage..." That says it all.

Please remember, everyone is a winner as all 3 AACA entities will benefit. There will not be a Mustang, or, Corvette raffle at Hershey, so, contact Steve Moskowitz at HQ quickly. Not many left...

I have 13 raffle tickets here at my house. Here is the challenge; let's see if 13 of you will contact me in the next 24 hours and I will give you an address to send a check; I will send you the ticket end and fill out your ticket and send your check and stub to Hershey. If we could get more than 13; we could blow the top off the raffle thermometer. Come on forum people. We don't have Howie the Hustler this time; just a good old "Bookreader."

This is such a great group of folks with lots of opinions and lots of love for our hobby. Ready, set, GO! it is now 4:27 PM and the clock is ticking.

Fran,

Geez...... I'm better at trying to shame them into buying when I'm there live and in person! If I figure a way to get some of these forum members to cut loose with $50 I'll let you know. Hmmmmm, $50........ It is now costing more than that for a tank of gas. Come on folks, let's fill up the AACA tanks......... let's buy the tickets!

I have 12 tickets now. The clock is on slow time so you can still get in on the action.

This really is more than a raffle for either a car or $20,000. It is giving something back to the hobby that we all love. Some of you have bought and it is much appreciated. Some of you want to wait to the end--well this is the end point; the numbers of tickets left is VERY low so if only 12 of you will e-mail me; we will really have to say this group rose to the occasion again. I love it when the forum group shows their great spirit and support.
