I apologize for the snide remark, but presentation means a lot in any kind of marketing. You'd think that there would be someone around to dust the car...a neighbor, friend, child, grandchild, wife??? Who lifted the hood, opened the doors, took the pictures, wrote the ad? wayne sheldon
Not much room in the back seat, but WOW! If I had the money I think I would be jumping at this one and quick! I have always really liked a lot of the off-beat style cars that came along in the roaring '20s! And this may not be the best of them, but I think it is great! Rickenbacker did built a very large oval window brougham, a truly incredible looking automobile! But this one isn't one of those. It is one of the smaller Rickenbacker models. Twenty some years ago, one of the few times I actually went to a collector car auction, there was an unrestored similar model Rickenbacker, a two-door sedan/coach. I looked it over quite a bit, but did not stick around to see what it sold for (conflicting plans). It wasn't an impressively big car, but still had a good look to it. But not nearly as neat looking as this one!
Jeff Perkins / Mn
This would be a fun one to recommission!
Leif in Calif
Rickenbacker is such a great story, both the car and the man. I've read a lot of biographies, but none come close to Eddie's story. Here's Eddie in his pre WWI Duesenberg days. Edited July 18 by Leif in Calif (see edit history)
Gary_Ash
My grandparents, born about 1892, had a Rickenbacker back in the day. I remember my grandmother talking about the bud vases in the corners. I wish I had a photo of their car.

He would love to dust it off and go for a ride if he could.

I did not know of it until recently when my oldest brother mentioned it.
Terry Harper
A cherished book in my modest collection is an autographed copy of his autobiography. Captain Eddie lead an amazing life and left us with a rich legacy and example.
Fossil
Captain Eddy was a hero of mine growing up. I loved to draw WWI airplanes and the exploits of the pilots of his time still interest me. The hat in the ring emblem goes back to his squadron and was used on his plane. I'd love to have that car although I don't think I could bring myself to drive it farther than short distances for fear someone would hit it. The price seem very reasonable to me.
Leif in Calif
.He cheated death SO many times! Crashed as a mail pilot in 1922, very seriously crashed on a Eastern Airlines flight to Atlanta in 1941 and then later in the war, spent 24 days floating around the pacific in a life raft with little food or water.

Steve_Mack_CT
Looks just like the Rickenbaker featured in an episode of the Twighlight Zone. An eccentric young man drives it and they mention it by name and it rolls away from it's parking spot causing an accident. Cop makes fun of him for having it.
