Additional parts included at buyers discretion, bumpers etc. This vehicle is being sold on a notarized bill of sale.” Listing Link: https://westernmass.craigslist.org/ctd/d/ware-1930-packard-740-phaeton-project/7690516772.html Phone Number: (860) 782-1554
alsancle
Anybody think this was a sedan that somebody threw another touring car body on?

Xander Wildeisen
Great example of a survivor car, that just needs a little effort to get it back on the road.😳

I think you're right. The wraparound cowl sill is way different on the open cars.

West Peterson
The seller also has a "745" for sale, which is sitting next to it. It is listed as a roadster, but is obviously a cut-down coupe. https://westernmass.craigslist.org/ctd/d/ware-1930-packard-745-roadster-project/7690515737.html The seller needs to marry the cowl from the "roadster" to the body tub of the "phaeton." Perhaps there's enough between these two cars to make a "real" open car out of the ashes.
Xander Wildeisen
I could have a lot of fun with that roadster thing. 15,000 is to much of a buy in price for what I would do with it. It will never be restored.
West Peterson
Basically, you're buying two desirable engines (if they are any good), and a few bits of parts. Not many other parts left on either one.

John Bloom
I am curious to the stories behind these two relics. It seems some “broken dreams” could be buried in there somewhere. Along with some Clostridium tetani. hard to look away from them knowing what they once were.

From the cars I see listed by the company I would surmise you are correct, they are located all over the place.
edinmass
The cars look like they came out of the woods west of Hartford. Looks like stuff Don C had. 1
