m-mman
The Town sedan (fastback) I like it! Only a few dollars more than the 49 Dodge Wayfarer. 🤔 Note the original sales contract; “Low Pressure tires”.
deac
Beautiful car! Rare to see an Oldsmobile restored and for sale. I think it is strong for money for a 4 door car. I would think because it a show quality car $25,000. $30-35,000 if it didn't have the extra 2 doors
Twisted Shifter
The only things that saved it from the hot rodders were the "extra 2 doors".
Malo48
This one checks all the boxes for me. Late '40s GM fastback, four doors, nice options, doesn't look too nice to drive, right outside my hometown...
The 55er
Could someone please flip that world ornament on the front of the hood around? It's upside down, no one ever noticed? 2

B Jake Moran
It’s certainly a beautiful time capsule but agree it won’t find a buyer at $28,000. But at some point it sells and the next owner just needs to enjoy the heck out of it. I mean maybe you pay $23,000 for it and enjoy it for 10 years. That’s a lot cheaper than a restoration and you enjoy it NOW. 2

deac
For some reason Oldsmobile's seem to be a hard sale these days. This one was priced high to begin with making for a harder sale! Actually I do like it even though it's a 4 door.

Fleetwood Meadow
What is that carburetor? I’ve never seen one like that and can’t figure out the function of it because I can’t see how the air gets into it.

I’ve never seen one like that and can’t figure out the function of it because I can’t see how the air gets into it. It’s a downdraft carb with a “side draft” intake-choke. Yeah they do look strange, but remember that a V8 was a new thing for Oldsmobile. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275868196775?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=eZWCT6wITSy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=l-cY-RXORf2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/276545802487?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=m719r37pTgq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=l-cY-RXORf2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Edited July 17 by m-mman (see edit history)
The 55er
That's the original 1949-1950 Oldsmobile Rochester model AA 2-bbl. carburetor. Air enters the carb from the rear. The long cylindrical air cleaner that clamps to the back of the carb by the firewall isn't shown in the picture. 1
