58L-Y8
"Inside and out, every dramatically new detail makes Lincoln for 1957, now, more than ever, unmistakably, the finest in the fine car field!" Intoned in the bright, sophisticated voice of Julia Meade, Lincoln-Mercury spokes-lady and cohost of The Ed Sullivan Show.
suchan
Spectacular-looking, clean car, especially at the asking price. The "message for more info" in the ad might not be a good thing, though...
kingrudy
Was this the car that the Batmobile was built on? Great looking car IMO.

The original Batmobile was built by George Barris from the Lincoln Futura concept car which was itself constructed by Ghia. The Futura was eventually sold by Ford Motor Company to George Barris for $1 "and other good and valuable consideration". auburnseeker
Seems like a good deal if the chrome is OK. 1/4 window frame looks kind of pitted. Rebuilt tranny seems like a big plus.

Sal Hepatica
I've always admired the gorgeous '56 Lincoln Premiere & Capri, especially the 2 door hardtop, but have never warmed to the '57. The tacked on fins and ungainly stacked quads ruined the car in my eyes- even when they were new. Add refrigerator white, instead of a vivid hue, and it's a "ho-hum" to me. At least it's a 2 door hardtop. Of course, if this were to land on my driveway, I wouldn't kick it out of the garage!
Gearheadengineer
I also prefer the ‘56 but for $12k asking price I would jump on this.
kingrudy
Beautiful car IMO but, that statement "needs engine work" is dragging this car down. Would look nice in the driveway though.

Rivguy
At least the seller is honest about the mileage. No wonder that it needs engine work!
Gearheadengineer
I still like this one a lot! The reduced price makes it even more tempting. Thankfully it is far away and I am out of garage space.
