1937hd45
Thanks! Looks like a 1910 era Model 30 Locomobile, the fenders are the tip. Bob Edited January 4, 2022 by 1937hd45 (see edit history) 3

JimKB1MCV
StylishOne: Do you know the address of the photo? Todt Hill is the high point and is a nice neighborhood, I wonder if the photo is off whats now Richmond Terrace? Lots of local history at the S.I. Historical Society, enjoyed the Edison coverage of the launch of Kaiser Bill's yacht on Shooters Island in the early 1900s.

John348
I don't know how you guys do it! I thought the highest coastal point on the east coast was Cadillac Mountain in Maine?
mike6024
What does that sign say? Can't make it out. DONGAS - something? I know it can't be DONGAS but something like that?

mike6024
Great job identifying the car. Would like to know where this is? What intersection? Wonder if the building is still there? Probably not.
StylishOne
That’s Dongan Hills now Todt Hill and it’s Richmond Rd not Richmond Terrace .. the corner of Todt Hill Rd and Ocean Terr is the highest coastal hill from Maine to Florida .. the buildings are still there .. John_S_in_Penna
Thanks for the clarification, Stylish One. So the lettering on the awning says "Dongan Hills Market." In what state and town?

That has always been my impression having biked through Acadia numerous times. Per the Nat'l Park Service webpage, "Cadillac Mountain is the major destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. Accessible by car, it is the highest point on the east coast of the U.S." (https://www.nps.gov/acad/learn/management/cadillac.htm) Thus this photo, if on Mt Desert Island, could be from one of the smaller villages such as Northeast Harbor....Having a Locomobile there makes some sense with the vast wealth which would visit each summer. mike6024
Yes I found it. That's the same building with the chimney near the dormer in a strange place to put a chimney. Corner of Richmond Road and Seaview Avenue. Someone with a Locomobile could go there and re-create the picture.
