Joe Cocuzza
It appears that the owner was driving at 20 MPH while taking pics of the dashboard!!! I sure hope that wasn't the case...... Nice car BTW
meteor
I think it is a really nice car. Looks to be in showroom condition. Won't see any at the local car shows.
alsancle
Imagine if instead of making thousands of these they only made a few and called them show cars? They would probably bring a huge amount of money. The styling is not for everyone, but you can't argue it isn't striking.

The shots of the illuminated dashboard are great! I love the way the lighted panel stretches out from about the center of the steering wheel to about the center of where the front seat passenger would be sitting. The swoopy-looking armrests on the doors are pretty neat! It's not an unusual thing to see detail photos of dashboards or interiors, but I don't often see these kinds of pictures for Nashes or the like. Pretty easy to find stuff like this for Tri-Five Chevrolets, Corvettes, T-Birds, any glitzy Cadillac, or a '60s/70s muscle car, and this is good for anyone looking to buy or restore one of those popular models. But, this Nash is something pretty uncommon. A great-looking ride - I don't know if it will fetch anything near the asking price, but I would be proud to own it.
suchan
I missed the asking price on first look; I figured it would be around $25K. $18K is a great asking for a "striking" car in excellent driver condition.

John_S_in_Penna
Well, it didn't take very long for a dealer to get this back on the market for $29,000. It is for sale again by "Streetside Classics" for probably double what he paid, and taking the car away from someone who might have had the original price in his savings. Here's the link: https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1485865/1954-nash-ambassador-for-sale-in-lavergne-tennessee-37086 I like looking at dealers' inventories. I respect those dealers whose mark-up isn't so high.
The 55er
This looks like a really nice Nash but the seller should just give the usual pertinent info about the car without all the nauseating over-hyping BS. After all the car has terrific details like rear seat grab straps! My question is what kind of a market is there for these mid 50s Nashes? Were they popular back in the day? I remember very, very few of them on the road as I was growing up in the 60s. Comparable period cars like Dodges, Pontiacs, Mercurys and even a few Studebakers were still in use everywhere but an old Nash (although there were many 1958 & later AMCs running around) was a real rarity. Is there a chance someone will pay $29,000 for this example? It's definitely unusual but would anyone want at at that price?
John_S_in_Penna
I think among knowledgeable Nash people, Nashes don't bring the money that dealers tend to ask. Dealer to elderly collector: "Mr. Smith, you can't expect to make money off all you've put into the car. I'll offer you just this modest amount. It's a hobby, not an investment." Next action: Dealer tries to make a quick 100% profit.
Matt Harwood
Streetside Classics is a consignment dealer. If their number is $29,900 then the consignor walked in and said he wanted $25,000 for the Nash. People always assume that dealers can somehow magically make cars worth more than they are, so they jack up their bottom line thinking a miracle is going to happen. 1

roysboystoys
Tabaco & Beer for a dollar? Where is that? Neat car , unusual color Large price
6T-FinSeeker
For that price, I'd prefer a Cadillac, Buick or even a Chrysler.
