Ron Lawson
Had a wow of a time with Grant and his bride The grin on his face went past the ears it was that good He was astounded by the fact that my gearbox is very quiet The original one was stolen so the one that's in the car was built up out of 3 different ones using new bearings only
Mattml430
Some pics of what the one armed bandit has been up to. It’s looking great Ron. Plugged away this arvo and fitted the top piece of leather to the top of the front seat Started fitting the HidemBindem I can't get over the difference it makes
30DodgePanel
I have to ask about the mounting mechanism. Was this used for spraying the final coats or is it just resting as it was curing? Always looking for better ways to rig stuff while spraying projects but this is perplexing to me. Does it work good and is it pretty stable? Beautiful job on the paint btw... gorgeous! Ron Lawson
I made up that Gizmo about 4 years ago for when I was paneling and repairing the fenders It has 4 adjustable legs with panel clamps welded on to each one I had the lowest part of the fender clamped where the fender mates to the frame and it was resting on the other two I had painted the underside 2 days prior to doing the outside You can get the information for this off UTube Look in Larse Tips and Tricks for metal shaping The paint is Wattyl Nylothane 2 pack 3
Mattml430
Ronny’s update. She looks like she’ll be ready for the DB rally in WA mate. Done the right side today by myself Very challenging with one arm A real challenge putting this one on across the topic the dash and down to the floor Well the wife is not going to be happy I have been sacked by Holden's Body Building because it took me 6 hours to put the Hidem Bindem on this door Only having one useful arm was not an excuse. They called me back in to finish the job.

RichBad
Thanks Ron, are there any brackets it slides through or just a slot in the wood?

Just a slot in the frame timber I made my own end caps to fit the straps where the fit to the door frame and I riveted a flat bar to the other end so they don't pull out of the slot

Ron Lawson
The old tart passed the registration check with flying colours. Because I have opted for personalised rego plates I will not have them until the middle of next week. They are at a Dept. of Transport facility in the city and as I will be going there for a funeral on Wednesday I can collect them then. It's a great feeling seeing 40 years of a hobby (i wont call it work) almost finished It will be a special moment when i attach 6DB1928 plates to the car

Mattml430
Some pics of Ron’s new hood that he had Grant White do here in Melbourne. I haven’t seen it in person but it looks fantastic from the pictures. I did see the car at our club day a couple of weeks ago and you’ve done a beautiful job of restoring her Ron. I failed to see a Phillips head screw though as hard as I looked. Doesn’t look like much work going on there with the chairs parked behind the car. They would be still warm I reckon Feel free to say whatever you want about Ron, Doug because he can only look at the forum and not reply. He doesn’t have his computer with him. 😂 Edited September 19, 2023 by Mattml430 (see edit history)
nearchoclatetown
Nothing but good things about Ron from me. I understand now why you are getting so much done, with adult supervision. I like the trim on the top. I zoomed in and didn't see any Philipps anywhere. Those colors are very much like The Other Dick Perry's Senior.
