Memoribilia to view - A guide

And goodness-pins you say?  One of my favorite smalls to collect.  Have been picking them up for a long time.  I've got several trays full of them and here are some of my favorites.  These are the celluloid "buttons' with pins in the back-side, commonly known as "pinbacks."  Have others that are salesman's advertising lapel pins.  Of course there are others for various automobile clubs, auto shows, tire advertising, etc. etc.  Then-there are watch fobs.  But, I'm sure we'll get to those in due course.

The short answer is no.  I am still in the collecting phase.     Every once in awhile I may have an extra item and I will list it in the buy/sell  sub forum.

This sub forum is to guide, view, compare collectibles not for selling or asking to buy.

Here is the program for the opening of the Ford assembly plant in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1912.   This program I found was in a lumber yard that was cleaning house,  it had fallen behind a bench.      Turns out the building was   a Ford agency in the early years.

Those accidental discoveries are the best!  We have to get you collecting sheet music now.  No idea how many Ford pieces there are but here are a few from my collection.  There may be some duplication here as I posted some in a separate Sheet Music thread some time ago.

This thread/topic just keeps getting better and better everyone! THANK YOU!

Walt

I think there are about 4 or 5 "regulars" who are contributing to this who are having as much fun revisiting their collections as they are picking stuff out to take the time to photographs it to share it with all of us. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Ford script key board which is fairly common.   I cannot remember the last time I saw a Clum key board.   Carry a spare is from a hardware store  as well key board with the early T keys.   Small keys are for door lock on a closed car, A master set that a dealer would have.   A couple of Clum keys.  The double hump ring is the one the "A" guys go ga ga for.

GABRIEL Horn Mfg. Co. was in Cleveland. The accessory folder I have is dated 1910 besides the real horn I have shown here from my collection they also offered a single tube type, Foster shock absorbers, muffler cut outs, and a whistle. the folder shows a cartoon of how the noise clears the way, I may post that in the humor section. Having been in a  brass era car with a similar type exhaust horn/whistle it definitely will be something that can shatter glass !

Hope to get the one I have shown here polished this winter - lots of time and patience.  The one I have is 9 1/2 inches wide  short tube is 15 inches longest one is 31 1/2

If anyone has a lead on Foster Shock absorbers circa 1910, I'm looking.  Any condition, even patterns.  I understand they were used on some Hupmobile Touring cars around then.

Wow, that's the king of horns!   We've had quite a few horns appear here on the forum, think it's time for a few more.

Terry, maybe a thread on  horns - from the brass era up into accessory horns in the early post war era. There were some neat musical horns in the 1930s and even some of the factory pairs of horns that were fitted to cars under the headlamps were of interesting style besides the obvious function to warn people to get out of the way. I just hope if this works out that whomever posts something gives us the data : manufacturer, perhaps a model number if it is there, and like I did some measurements, even if it is just the opening of the front at the end on the later horns.

If that is the way to go and it seems feasible we can perhaps talk our chief moderator into shifting the photo I posted and the text - he seems to be an ok guy😉 who has a lot of patience !
