keiser31
Doesn't look like a Queen to me, unless it's a different model than what I have seen.
nickelroadster
Whatever it is,its pretty big for a pre 1909.
Jeff Perkins / Mn
Looking at Queen autos more closely I think John is right....it ain’t no queen. As Nickelroadster points out it is a BIG car!
95Cardinal
Might be an 08 Packard Model 30 The "Desert Rat" was a Diamond Tires demonstration vehicle.
Jeff Perkins / Mn
95 Cardinal.....I think we’re close......only difference is cowl area, Desert Rat does not have a w/s so that may account for the difference. Here is a picture of an outstanding ‘08 Packard that was F/S on the HCCA site a while ago.
keiser31
The car in question doesn't have the shelves on each side of the hood and has different hubs. It is also chain drive. nzcarnerd
A characteristic of Stearns automobiles was the white line around the radiator but I am not sure this is a Stearns. Did Stearns use chain drive? From the few pics I have seen of early Stearns cars I can't tell for sure. Note the front spring hangers - this car has the shackles that are usually at the back end on the front. The supposedly 1906 Stearns in the photo here has unusual front spring hangers but they aren't very clear.
nzcarnerd
Maybe this 1907 Stearns is closer? 1
sagefinds
That Stearns is pretty close to a dead ringer except for the chain drive. According to the Complete Encyclopedia of Motorcars,Stearns did build some large cars with chain drive in those early days so I think this guy from NZ with a seemingly limitless supply of old car pictures has nailed it down. Good work.
dustycrusty
1908 Stearns is chain driven, with bassackwards spring shackles on the front frame horns. Both have those flimsy front mud gaurds and the steering whell angle and type seem to match.

1937hd45
The one mail feature to look for on a Stearns is the white line around the inner edge of the radiator, I see one on the OP photo. Jeff Perkins / Mn
I have a friend with a 1905 Stearns. I emailed him for some pictures but he has not responded yet. I think you guys nailed it though, great job! Bob, I think you hit the final Spike!
1937hd45
Maybe that hood is long enough to cover a six cylinder engine, and the front frame horns are unique to the 45-90. One of the BEST BRASS CARS in the Bill Harrah collection. The Harrah car was a Toy Tonneau with a lower body than the touring in the OP.
