bob duffer
I saw this care in Budapest this weekend . Look at the sign in the window, and he even had coins in the dish. I donated a few coins. Maybe we should try this at the local Concours d' Elegance show.

oldcarfudd
Hmmm-m-m-m-m. Sign in English, in Budapest. Is that a Trabant? If so, it probably needs all the donations it can scrounge.
TerryB
A great example of the original meaning of crowd funding! Terry
John_S_in_Penna
I think we can all learn to earn our own money for our cars, rather than expecting others to give us theirs!
bob duffer
It was in a " Recommended " shopping area . Anyone know what year or kind of car this is?

DLynskey
Probably one of the most photographed cars in the world. My first time in Budapest was 2005 when I photographed this Trabant in approximately the same spot right next to the Fisherman's Bastion, likely the most visited attraction in the city. I can't find my photos but the blue one has been there in the same spot, with the same sign for several years. I wonder how much the owner has collected in donations over the years. There are companies that rent Trabants and even give tours of Budapest in a Trabant. I don't know if those still have the original pollution spouting 2-cycle engines or not. It's hard to imagine that the city would allow it. Don
John_S_in_Penna
A former Communist wrote that the Trabants' bodies are made of plastic-coated cardboard. It makes them hard to dispose of, because burning them, he said, releases harmful gases.
60FlatTop
That's probably environmentally unfriendly. So they gave a bunch of it to their southern friends. Bernie
smithbrother
I saw an ad once that simply said, " LAST CHANCE, SEND YOUR $5.00 TODAY", then an address, that's ALL it said. Dale in Indy
capngrog
Bob, I hate myself for it, but I just gotta ask: how much did you contribute to the car's maintenance? Just wonderin', Grog

60FlatTop
I would have dropped in a Euro myself with a "apa fia szentlélek". Bernie
