nzcarnerd
Good looking car. I bet that is a rare one. For the benefit of any who are wondering, the engine is a Continental 12Z - 3" x 4 1/4", 240 cid, 72 hp. West Peterson
Only a few Dianas left. That is a correct hood ornament for the car, too, I believe. It is not a generic accessory, but Diana specific.

vintagerodshop
I think there is between 9 and 12 Diana's out there. The gentleman I bought it from had three restored Diana's and a very Rough car with a drivetrain that we know is Moon But the body seems a little different than the others. The Checky bugger called me up after i got it home to tell me he just found out the Diana wasn't as rare as he thought as he knew of at least two different owners in town. [He lives 20 min away]. I am looking forward to seeing how it drives. It was supposed to be such a nice driving car it was marketed towards women drivers due to the hydraulic brakes, balloon Tires, and easy steering. Marty Roth
Henry Martin In LaPlace, Louisiana had one in his collection many years ago,and also had a MOON,and a RUXTON..These were fantastic cars. His grandson Kim and I got them running in the late 1980s or so.Congratulations on a beautiful and very rare car
vintagerodshop
Thanks. They are great cars. I do not have a Moon but i do have a Ruxton. a stock older restoration that was unfortunatly chopped in the fifties to sixties. i do how ever also have a semi complete parts car for when i want to return the body to original height.https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=331210280351823&set=vb.207239856082200&type=3&theater
Marty Roth
I remember seeing the Ruxton's Eight-Tone paint job for the first time, and was amazed to learn that it was factory-Original.What an amazing car !! And Mid-engine Front Wheel Drive...
vintagerodshop
My Ruxton is really not that great. It could use a complete restoration. When I got it it came out of a collection that bought it from a casino in Vegas I think. I had not been run or driven in at least twenty years. The guy I bought it from had never heard it run let alone drive it. If you click on the link in my last post at the bottom it shows us running the car. I think it was the second or third time we ran it. The paint is tired and the foam in the seats is rock hard. The top needs to be fixed but I have a second body if I need parts. trimacar
I'm sure you've measured and verified the chop, but they couldn't have taken more than an inch or two out of it, the sedans were very low.....and it almost looks stock....great cars you have.... 60FlatTop
The Ruxton, Diana, Moon and other uncommon cars were around 30 years old when I first got into the hobby and it was always great to see stories about them pop up in the pre-computer days. I probably heard about those cars around 1960. The few times they have surfaced over the years has refreshed the memories. I like the history behind them.On that Diana radiator cap, did they make a plain dog-bone version? I have a similar one in the collection of things to transfer to new custodians:Bernie

I also have a unrestored Ruxton body on a chassis that when sitting next to the chopped one it is very obvious. On my car the rear quarter windows have also been covered with the vinyl top material. I will say one thing, even with not having been running for at least 20 years once we got it going and drove it around. I was very surprised with how nice it was to drive. If you were not aware the Ruxton was one of the first two front wheel drive cars to see production. The other was the Cord l29 which I will say is a much heavier driving and steering car. Also the cord has a poorly designed peddle assembly for comfort. The Ruxton feels much nicer on the road.
