  1. I just got off the Vintage tour, 63 pre 31 cars with a teen aged boy driving a 1910 (can't remember the make) and his sister driving an 08 Buick. A lot of pre 27's and only a couple of T's. A lot of interest by this group. Just my TCW. Bob Smits
  2. Looking for replacement rocker chrome trim for the past year. The original trim is 2.5 in by 87 in. If you have something in this range contact me. Does not have to be Buick. It can be slightly shorter but not longer. The car is original and not being restored and will be used to tow my wife's 1970 Airstream. Thanks, Bob Smits
  3. I need a glass lens for the back up light in a 52 Olds 98. thanks, Bob Smits PM or email me
  4. If the CCCA model is so desirable why can't Houston, (2.5 million pop with 4 million within a 60 mile radius) support a CCCA club. I suspect there are 500 cars meeting the CCCA rules in the area described. I have never owned a modified vehicle and have been to many CLC Grand National meets and look forward to viewing the modified Cads. Just my TWC. Bob Smits
  5. Thanks for the information. Larry, I would take it to the parts store if I could get it started. Bob Smits
  6. Looking for information on a reasonably priced diagnostic scanner/code reader primarily for use on my 07 Duramax which has a habit of refusing to re start at a truck stop or dying at idle in my driveway. Thanks, Bob Smits
  7. You haven't lived until you have gone to a drive in movie in a rumble seat. My kids (age 36 to 46) still talk about the experience of going to the movies in our 34 Pontiac. Thanks for bringing up the memory. Bob Smits
  8. Research the Budd Co. They were one of the early manufacturing companies to produce all steel bodies beginning in the early teens. Yes, GM was one of the last to change. Bob Smits
  9. For many the true value in owning a RV is not having to lay you head on a pillow containing DNA from 50 previous users not to mention the national epidemic of bed bugs. Here in College Station we keep several extermination businesses busy doing nothing but treating bed bug infestations. If you think it is not a problem ask you pest control people. When I was shopping for my first Motor Home 35 years ago a dealer told me that if you are concerned about gas milage you probably shouldn't buy one. I would like to be able to tow to my next show/tour for 50 cents a mile. When you add all the costs using a diesel pick up and trailer cost over $1 per mile. Towing that same trailer with a Motor Home probable adds lass than 0.25 a mile and is so convenient. (Like not having to kennel the pets) Just my thoughts. Bob Smits
  10. I was actively looking for a similar "T" last fall and ended up purchasing Marty Roth's 14 Buick instead. I did find a very acceptable 14 set up for touring including rear disc brakes. It was not advertised and may still be available. If you haven't found anything I will be happy to check on it. Last fall you could buy it for 20K. Bob Smits
  11. Mine arrived yesterday. We still use Pony Express in Texas. Worth the wait though. Bob Smits
  12. Contact James Bartlett. His contact information is in the post about the 62nd Texas Tour in the Meets and Tours Forum section. He and his family have been in the Houston area for years. Bob Smits
  13. Looks like a neat toy for my six year old triplet grandsons to play with. I am afraid to show then the video. Bob Smits
  14. I just got around to changing the oil on my 73 Centurion 455 (had not ran since 1999 when I purchased it) and noticed the oil capacity is only 4 quarts. Was this common for the 455? It makes me nervous. Are there other higher capacity oil pans that will fit? Thanks, Bob Smits
  15. Interesting that my 34 eight cylinder has a similar problem which continued after replacing the rear seal. I must admit that I didn't check for bearing clearance 20 years ago. The car performed flawlessly on Glidden #34 other than losing 1/2 quart of oil per day I am thinking about taking it on this years Glidden. Has anyone converted to a modern seal? Thanks, Bob Smits
  16. NTX5467, Thanks for the explanation. I purchased a 73 Centurion with 50K miles. It has been sitting in dry storage since 99 and I thought it would be nice to get rid of the emissions junk as I bring it back to life. I will check with the local inspection station. Bob Smits
  17. How difficult is it to remove the air injection system on a 73 455? Thanks, Bob Smits
  18. WTB 72 GTO Front License Plate Bracket. Thanks, Bob Smits. PM or email at garford12@gmail.com Thanks
  19. WTB 72 GTO Front License Plate Bracket. Thanks, Bob Smits. PM or email at qarford12@gmail.com Thanks
  20. Skyking, I traded the winter stress for triplet grandsons who are now 6. I am working to get three go carts ready for spring. Let the fun begin. Bob Smits
  21. Yes, At the AACA regional tour in Amarillo I announced that I was looking for a pre-15 Model T that was already set up for touring. A day later Marty told me he was going to sell the Buick. The rest is history. Bob Smits
  22. I loved everyone's photos. I lived in Iowa until 2000 and remember winters like this. Pam and I left Iowa 15 min after I retired. I don't miss it. It was 68 degrees in College Station this past week end. Bob Smits
  23. Larry, that is a pretty good looking Buick. I can see why you were interested. The interior reminds me of my 23 Cad 7p touring, all original with over 100K miles according to the owner when I purchased it in 78. It has undergone a complete mechanical restoration but I have not touched anything else. Black Duct Tape covers the holes in the seats. I will try to post photos of the 14 in the next few days. It will be on the HCCA tour through Texas Hill Country the first week of March. Thanks again to all who posted. Bob Smits
  24. Thanks Dave, I have already ordered a copy of the Delco instruction book from the AACA Library. Bob Smits
  25. Thank you for the replies. Mark, thanks for the offer but I have ordered similar information from the AACA Library. I will check the Buick Heritage site. Bob Smits
