  1. Rear window moulding was a whitish wood. May be wrapped in cloth...4 pieces that look like 1/4 round mould ing in your house. 2 wood screws per piece. Need pictures of details like that, let me know. I found the rear window moulding tonight. I have a 30 CJ. New, cheaper mode,l but very similar to the 66. Nice car you have. You have a jewel, believe it or not. Bill Harmatuk
  2. Thanks so much for the info. I have copied it and is now in my file. Thanks again, hwellens.
  3. Very nice car!! A prize. BillH
  4. Does the 30 CJ have a Fedco plate on the dash?? I have never seen one, a Fedco plate, for my 30 Cj. I have all the body tags for the passenger door pillar and fire wall but nothing for the dash. Have never seen any indication of anything missing on the dash as far as a Fedco plate goes. Interesting. Bill H
  5. Thanks for answering a long awaited question I also had on splash shields. I have the original shields, in pristine condition, for my 30 Chrysler. I was also thinking about the air flow thru the engine compartment. Makes sense. Thanks. Bill H
  6. Planning a few days, this Fall, when North Carolina isn't 120 percent humidity, as to when, (what date), to spray a coat of 2 part epoxy primer and 24 hours later a coat or two of 2K sealer. BODY OFF chassis. Waiting on the weather. Radiator shell will be shipped to Qual Chrome, tomorrow. Bill H
  7. Thats right! I was waiting to see who mentioned it first. A common problem with dual axel trailers. The front wheels carrying all the weight. For boat trailers, people in Florida swear by Maxxis tires. I use load range D Maxxis for my over loaded single axel boat trailer. Bill H
  8. I'm staying out of this one. I drive a lot. Some times 100 miles a day, running for myself and my wife's team in the Real Estate business, and personal business.. Its getting worse and worse. Idiots on cell phones is the biggest culprit. Young teen aged girls, next. Then there is the people that think they are sitting on the couch talking on the phone, oblivious to anything.... Until you blow the horn. I've started taking pictures of drug deals with my I Phone. I'll stop now. Bill H
  9. Pictures, pictures. Would love to see the Chrysler. I have a 30 CJ, 4 door sedan. I'm neck deep in a body off refresh. You have come to the right place for info and help. Bill H
  10. I have had a lot, and driven older automobiles all my life. Even with newer cars, with smaller engines, I always "drive with my ears". If you listen to the motor / engine, it will tell you what a comfortable RPM is. Bill H
  11. I would love to see a picture of your 59 Dodge. Where are you located?? Bill H
  12. The car was originally black from the factory. Just want her to look correct. I have been tossing around, beating myself up, etc, etc... looking for a color combination other than black but I always go back to black. There is nothing prettier and period than a black sedan. The wooden spoked wheels and small amount of bright work, (chrome), will add just enough contrast to the black. Then there is the Packard Ivory, double pin stripe, the length of the body. Bill H
  13. Don't know what this fits, but its too small for a 450 / 19 tire on my 30 Chrysler. it will go on the inflated tire and rim but is real tight. But the correct width for the 450 / 19 tire. This can be had for a very reasonable price plus whatever shipping will be. Bill H
  14. If you were to paint a 1930 Chrysler CJ-6, 4 door sedan.... 99.85% original, what single stage black paint would you use.??? I have already bought a gallon and a half of PPG Corvette BLACK, for the top coat. No metal flake. Just single stage, acrylic enamel, BLACK. Is there another black that should be used.?? Any suggestions or feed back is/are welcome. Bill H
  15. Thanks so much for the replies, everyone. Now to pursue the family of the building and make an offer. I don't plan on re selling them. They would make a fine addition to the NC plates I already have. Bill H
  16. What would be a fair, reasonable offer for the three?? The leather tag is the real deal. I think they can be bought. Bill H
  17. Soooo... everybody that owned an automobile had numbers and letters in the shed. There was an episode of Pickers, where they found a leather license plate, and they went crazy with bidding / offers. Just saying. Bill H
  18. Hope this is the right place to post this. Stumbled across these today in an old building. Need to find the owner and make an offer. I couldn't breath and got nervous for a little while when I saw them.... Especially the leather one. I could have taken them but thats not what I am about. The plate is leather. Couldn't see a date. Has to be older than 1916. What is the leather plate worth.?? What would be a reasonable offer?? Looks to be in remarkable shape. It is nailed to the wall in an old office building. Bill Harmatuk
  19. I have a Dodge Brothers cap identical to the one in the picture. You are welcome to it for free. I'll pay shipping just to know it will go to a good home. Bill Harmatuk chryslercj6@gmail.com
  20. I want the 36 Chevy coup if its close to N.C. Don't know if I can afford it, though. Some one private message me with price. Bill H
  21. May-be, May-be not. I found new, exact duplicate, wind shield raising hardware for my 1930 Chrysler, CJ-6, at the Filling Station. The Filling Station specializes in Chevrolet parts, but the CJ-6 is a Briggs body. I got lucky. The old pot metal gears that raise and lower the wind shield were in about 20 pieces and were made of pot metal. The mechanism was an exact replacement with detailed instructions. Great people to deal with also. You can view their cataloge on line. Bill H
