  1. Ditto on Dave's credibility...... Good Guy.... Jim
  2. Thank you for the response. It WAS the switch, got it replaced, hope all will be good. It was a PITA to get to.
  3. Anyone else signed up for this year's show on 10/4/2014 at Silver Springs, FL? Jim
  4. Am having to add PS Fluid every couple of weeks. Cannot see any obvious signs from top or any drips on ground. Plan to take to shop tomorrow to get it on the rack to check underneath. Any ideas on where to start looking? Am only driving 35 miles per week. Tks for any hints..... Jim
  5. Found problem!! Swapped fuel pump relay and ABS main relay. Now starts fine and ABS light stays on. Will replace ABS relay ASAP. Thanks to all for your suggestions..... Jim
  6. Thanks, usually after overnite or longer, but have had 2 instances after sitting for for 4 or 5 hours in 75 degree weather. So far, it starts fine after an hour or so after driving.
  7. I am having a VERY erratic start problem. 99% of the time it starts on the 1st revolution. In the last 3 months have had several instances where it starts but dies after 1 or 2 revolutions, then only cranks over & gives no indication of starting. After repeated attempts or waiting a few minutes or overnight, it will start as usual & run fine. Have run diagnostics. Only get a C553 history code, no other codes. Thinking maybe a bad relay, but which one would it be? I have done the Delco upgrade, but have not yet switched to Rapidfires; but I do not think that is the problem. Any suggestions?
  8. Thanx, looks interesting.......... Jim
  9. Thanks Ronnie, good to see Howard pop up on occasion. And a Happy Thanksgiving to all from sunny, but cool Florida.... Jim
  10. Might want to check the diode in console near fuse block. Also look in lighter recepticle see if errant coin fell in.
  11. Hi Padgett.... Unless you had more than one FSM for the Bonne, don't bother looking. You gave us one with the car, I passed it on when we sold the car...... Jim
  12. Welcome home.... have missed your posts... Jim
  13. I don't know what the difference in heat would be between #1141 and #1156 bulbs, but it seems that it would take a lot of "ON" time to melt the lens like that. I do agree that correct bulbs should be used. Were the brake lights stuck on? Did driver ride the brake pedal? Are the pads worn down?....... Just some thoughts.. Jim
  14. Car does look familiar.. Jim
  15. Hope you hit a jackpot....... Jim
  16. Thank goodness I've never had to deal w/freeze plugs on a Reatta, so I can't offer any help. But maybe if you gave it a good pat on the back & a big hug, it would get better.? PS: no GM show at S Springs this year. Take care, Jim
  17. May I be the first to welcome Padgett as Moderator. Couldn't pick a better man......... Jim
  18. Nic, last time I needed a motor, NAPA said warr was one year. Bought from Autozone w/lifetime warr. BE SURE to get R&R instructions from Ronnie's site and BEWARE THE SPRING OF DEATH!.... Jim
  19. I agree with Marck, mine have all been the large plastic/nylon gear inside the motor. Of course, the regulator could suffer unusal damage, but it should be obvious...... Jim
  20. SUPER NICE! I always wanted to take one of these and wrap in in my '52 Chev sheet metal..... Jim
  21. Exactly the same thing with mine. Maybe it's something in the Florida air?
  22. Congrats Dave (and wife). Would like a 'vert, but Condo life with cars having to live outside just doesn't permit it. (Tape deck still chugging along) Jim
  23. Thank you Howard, it's good to see you on the forum again. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the rest of the Reatta Guys and Gals........ Jim
  24. Marck: Note the ad says "gaurrentted", not "guaranteed". You may not have a case..... Jim
