  1. Had my Left Hi & Low beams out. Removed & replaced. Bad bulb had 3/4" of water inside. After replacement, noticed the Left lite looks quite a bit brighter than the Right. (also a H6054ST) Question is, do these bulbs dim with age? Tks, Jim
  2. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and all forum folks. Good to see you again. Jim
  3. Replaced front rt Park light bulb. While feeling around under headlight ass'y, found a 7mm socket w/extension. Not sure if I lost it or maybe from P O. If anyone on the forum owned my Silver/Blue '89 and lost this, let me know and I will return it.
  4. Seems like every car I have owned, plus others I have worked on, have some sort of negative energy field that eats small parts and tools. On the other hand, I was cleaning out my Expy prior to trading it in tomorrow, and found a torx bit under the seat. Don't know if I lost it or the P O did. Just one of the mysteries of life, like working under the hood, if anything drops it goes to the center of the car, and a broom handle must be used to retrieve it.
  5. Welcome to the world of retirement. Just put front brakes on the Expy yesterday from 9 to 11am. Overcast, but warmer than I like.
  6. Looking forward to seeing you again. Hope we have others there also. Felt lonesome being the only Reatta there last year.
  7. Show was cancelled for Oct 2013. Resumed in Oct 2014. Only rides available were the glass bottomed boats (for a fee).
  8. Registered on line last week. When I posted on here for last year's show, there were no replies and no Reatti. Hope we get some folks there this year.
  9. I have replaced three window motors over the years. Have the 4th one needing to be fixed when the weather cools off. All of the three had the nylon gear inside the motor ass'y stripped. Believe Ronnie's site has good instructions. Read thoroughly, and BEWARE of the DEADLY SPRING.
  10. I have been hesitant to use anything that sticks to the original dash. Afraid it may cause damage/marks in the long run.
  11. Fixed at last! Can't say I'm proud of the way it had to be done, but it works. Biggest problem was getting the fuse block pried out far enough to remove the rear cover (another PITA). Cover off, was able to snip the two wires going to the fuse and soldering in a new fuse holder. It ain't purdy, but it works. Have no idea what could have caused the problem, could have been developing for months. Thank you all for your replies.. Jim
  12. Congrats Ronnie, you are appreciated! Jim
  13. Thanks, it is the FUSE getting hot. The right side of fuse(looking at front of fuse block), where pink/white stripe wire comes in, melted, the spade detached and remained in the block. I cleaned the damaged terminal as best I could, put a new fuse in. With the new fuse, if I hold the brake pedal to lite the bulbs, the new fuse gets very hot in just a few seconds. Have checked all stop lite bulbs & sockets (including high level bulbs), do not see any problems. My next step is to snip the two wires going to the fuse and soldering in a new fuse terminal away from the block. Yes, viewed info in FSM. Didn't lead me anywhere. Any thoughts whether this may be a "Wiring under passenger seat" problem? Really don't want to go that route unless absolutely necessary. Again, thank you for your help, will report further when I install the new terminal.
  14. My post is for an Automatic Transmission Manual for '58 Edsels. Not trying to sell a car, or pics of a car..... Jim
  15. Anyone have pix or instructions to remove the rear cover of the '89 fuse block? Haven't been able to remove the block from car, but do have it loose enough to repair the wiring if the cover was off.
  16. Thank all of you for replies, I think Texas John's idea is probably correct. Now, how does the fuse box get removed for repair? Can I splice into the wires elsewhere and put the fuse in at another location? Looks like this is turning into a major project!
  17. Found that my 20 Amp "Hazard" fuse gets extremely hot whenever the 4 ways or brakes are applied. Am assuming this to be a bad ground. Any suggestions on where to look? Jim
  18. My 20A fuse blew & one side melted into the fuse block. Now trying to gain access to rear of fuse block in order to repair. I have the side panel off & the 4 retainers out, but cannot get the block out far enough to work on wires. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim
