  1. Smoky bar brown? Turdquoise? Oh, you mean Buick's name. Nope.
  2. I'm telling you head size not bolt size, btw.
  3. Half right. (You have two of the four). They are all 5/8" heads. The holes right above your circles have to be loosened as well. The 1/2" size is for the inner fender.
  4. I'm not really sure why Mudbone is fretting so much over his hoses. These are nearly identical to the originals. Pfffft... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm going to need this info in about a month when a guy with a 55 wants to have one installed.
  6. Cuz I didn't know it was different.
  7. I think he is looking for the parts, Bulldog. Those are excellent links after he gets the parts though.
  8. I loved driving my Special without it on the highway, but I have really grown to appreciate power with my wagon and other cars I have had in my shop recently. My car won't be affected by the extra drag. (322)
  9. Does anybody else notice that Mud's text is smaller than everybody else's? Maybe that is the text issue. I dunno. I am usually just swinging wildly and blindly at anything computer related if it takes more than two seconds.
  10. In addition to Keith's comment, the wagon is green and not as sporty (I'm being nice here) as the Regal. Even though I would admittedly walk by both at a car show, the Regal really intrigues me. Good luck with the sale. Make sure you price them above demo derby prices.
  11. That's exactly right, Doug. I am doing an experiment which I believe will work on a "never to be judged again" car. Check it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Super sweet. I am looking forward to seeing it.
  13. Supposed to be painted with just the chrome surrounding the slot. Yes, they do look good with the chrome.
  14. I did the same thing on my Special when I first bought it in the 80's. It doesn't make sense where Buick installed them, EXCEPT that you don't have to pull upholstery or see exposed screws.
  15. Oh yeah, they all have the red, white and blue around a black center.
  16. All the same. I believe the Roady center is gold, and there is a shield on very early production models in the center.
  17. FWIW, if you don't want to tackle this on your own, I recommend Lares. I emailed Dan at Lares Corp to rebuild one and he gave me an absolutely fair price. The two way shipping and my need to get a customer's car out quickly was the deciding factor in me rebuilding first one for a client, then this one for myself.
  18. Really heavy trying to pick it up over a nicely painted fender, too.
  19. Good eye Adam. The convertibles had three inboard mounting holes on the frame for rigidity, so I had to cut out portions of the (donor) hardtop floor.
  20. Keep that S up there Paul!!!
  21. Just showing off. I am adding power steering to my 55 Special with factory air. I rebuilt the gear and pump by using Mudbone's videos and Old Tank's website. Pics:
  22. Waiting on sandpaper. Found a better trans pan and installed it. Also got the underseat heater in. Buffing trim is good foul weather entertainment.
  23. I don't think so, Earl. I think the base is more concave on big series cars.
