  1. Great pics Eric. It was nice meeting you.
  2. Woody and I are heading north today to St. Louis. Hopefully the rain will stay away so we can catch a game tonight at Busch Stadium. We will head to Chicago after that (Wrigley Field) and then return to Kirkwood, Mo. on Thursday to prepare for the Great Race. I will start a new thread at some point so I don't completely hijack this one. A quick summary is we go down the length of Route 66 and end at the Santa Monica pier. Hit Universal Studios for a couple of days (and a baseball game - to continue the theme) and then make it home by July 4th. Drive friendly..... The Texas way!
  3. Hmm. That's weird. I know both of our cars were unlocked. I would like to think that it was just a coincidence, but I have had people mess with things before. It's not going to affect how much I have loved my trip so far. Let's not travel down the path of what D's people can be...
  4. Got it. Was eating when you called. Thanks Edit: Honestly don't know how it was left on.
  5. I came out this morning and noticed that my key was in the on position. Battery dead. Got a jump and the car started right up. There is a minor burning smell inside the cabin now. If I had burnt the points, would the car have started and run well? The wagon has a fancy pants alternator in the genny case, so it wouldn't be an overheating voltage regulator. Thanks y'all
  6. Check the three pulley bolts. They don't need to be super right, but there should be lock washers on em. Make sure the pulley is fley seated, of course. Painting the ring won't affect anything.
  7. Caught up with some old friends. Met some folks I have only communicated with for a while. I had never met Mudbone. I met Tony M. , 2carb40 and a few others I can't think of. This is THE REASON to come to the Nationals for me. Now... All of you dummies who are reading this who are in Springfield. I am going to be down at my wagon around 7-7:30. The cooler has beer in it. Bring more. Bring ice. Bring a chair.
  8. Even though this isn't Hooters, it is a bunch of forum guys fixing Ben's (First Born) 50. Willie watching, Mudbone off camera (oops, I missed his help), Ben's butt over fender, Ben's son and some passerby, me drinkin' a beer and takin' a picture.
  9. More importantly. Here is a picture of an 11 year old kick butt navigator "next-gen TRW"
  10. I was supposed to show up tomorrow, but Woody said "keep driving Poohbutt!!!" We got here after 11 hours of driving approximately 700 miles. Just got back from having drinks with Brian D., Smartin and his lovely bride to be, and the Pats who I will be assisting on the Great Race. I feel so happy right now. Kinda sweaty too.....
  11. Mudbone just did that so he could install a boot. This is cool and really anal, but completely unnecessary for function and (to be honest) judging.
  12. Send yours to Bob's. They have them revulcanized and then send them back. Don't look elsewhere.
  13. Shoot. We played many shows with the Reverend. Gatton threatened to steal some trim from my Special at a show at Fort Reno park in DC where we opened up for him when I was 18. He was a hot rod guy to the core.
  14. Like. A lot!!! Thanks Lamar. I grew up playing along with Robert Gordon records. I was also a freaky kid in the 70's who liked black and white comedies from the 40's.
  15. 5563 is smarter than a shop manual for once.
  16. I wasn't aware that it was going to Australia. A smart guy would have Pete ship to wiperman and then have the return address to Johnny.
  17. What? It will work perfectly with a guarantee for $125.
  18. I think the bids didn't show up, because that seems like an ending number, rather than a starting bid price. Especially in this "buyers" market.
