  1. Not to mention I have enough other "stuff" to walpaper with... this picture is a little out-of-date and the area above the bed is now full too.
  2. Don't bet on that Terry - I have only 2 pieces of sheet music framed - the Cole & Barney Google both of which came from a yard sale less than 3 miles from my house for the whopping sum of $1.00 - I also have the 1915 hit "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along" but it's not framed yet Sherman on the other hand has a pile of Ford related music none of which are framed.
  3. You are welcome. Nothing beats a free ad where a LOT of people with an interest in the old cars visit daily...
  4. Or e-bay just that part - should bring $35 - 40 alone...
  5. Lucky guy - the screw-on handle is worth something as it is not reproduced. place an ad on the MTFCA website and you'll get interest on just the window mechanism.
  6. Looks familiar... Being a one-year emblem this radiator shell was at Hershey four years running. It was sitting at a booth across the way from a friend and every year I asked the price. The seller finally sold it to me cheap as I was the only person who had asked...
  7. Right here - and in the Cadillac-LaSalle section of this forum...
  8. Hi John - when adding or adding a reply you need to "go advanced" - when there you will find a box below that reads "manage attachments" click there and a pop-up window will open so you can browse for your picture. From there you can post pictures up to some size (which I'm not sure of )by "uploading" them - then once done there is a "close window" button to the bottom of the pop-up Additionally - you can type a responce on the bottom of a post BEFORE hitting the "go Advanced" without losing what was typed thus far. Preview it, and submit if you like it...
  9. Don Sommer was also reproducing high quality hood ornaments in stainless steel - in case you need to google to find him.
  10. Duncan - where would the cast sill plate in this display have been used?
  11. Well - that did not work as planned - - from where the link takes you go to the left and click "factory Mascots" then click the flag for "US" then pull down for "Buick" then pull-down to see the 1927 link. A great site with plenty of info.
  12. I'm thinking the Buick lady started in 27 and before that the moto-meter or plain cap was all that was available - here is a link to see the 27 cap: Mascot Mania! Information on car mascots, hood ornaments, car badges, motometers and automobilia.
  13. Measure the hub thread & size - i may have a screw-on remover left over from a 24 Special 6 that I sold in 2000. As for the seals, I think I was able to measure the ID needed to go over the rear hub and buy modern replacements - a modification was done to the bearing retaining cup by removing it and boring a step into it for the seal, then re-assembling the rearend with the modified seal in place. I had the car on the road for about 4 years after this was done with no leaks into the rear brakes.
  14. With Rob being a first-time poster I assume he has not gotten the drill from the moderators on the "RULES" which are: Buy/Sell Forums IMPORTANT: Put either FS for "For Sale" or WTB for "Want to Buy" in the subject line along with the year, make and model. EXAMPLE: FS - 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe Please include the following information in the body of your post: Year Make Model Price Description Location (City, State, Country) Contact Information (Name, Email and Phone) EBAY URL if also listed on EBAY Incomplete, overly commercial, or non-automotive related postings will be deleted without notice! He does have one picture of the car though - click on the number next to the "Images" tag beneath his name and you can see the car - Adding more pictures and the price will cut down on the tire-kickers.
  15. Mid 20's Studebaker used the same thing - try a wanted add there too.
  16. I agree David, but it is a starting point - if you feel better add 15% premium for a roadster, then subtract 25% due to current market conditions. The car was bought due to the last name being Mitchell which may have inflated the price, but I thought it was reasonable if you are into that era of car.
  17. Problem is good old Henry made millions of T's and closed cars are not the most popular - I have had a hard time selling an earlier 20's 2-piece windshield in simmilar condition (less sticker) for $75.00 - And I doubt that there is a repop available since there is little to no demand for it. All you can do is toss it on e-bay and hope for the best... And yes, this is only free advice and may not even be worth what you paid.
  18. Owl's Head Museum sold a nice un-restored touring about 6 years ago for $8500.00 - it was a good HPOF car - original condition with the mechanicals gone thru for safety/durability
  19. Studebaker watches were made by the South Bend Watch Company - I do not think they were made exclusively for the Studebaker company, but both plants were in the same area and I'd suspect a family tie-in was there if not financial backing. If you open the rear cover the works should be marked with both "South Bend Watch" and "Studebaker" as well as a serial number that can be traced to a year of manufacture somehow.
  20. There is a T engine rebuilder who is somehow involved in reproducing one - his website is: Connecticut Antique Engine Restoration, LLC and you may have to call, but if there are survivors He'll know where.
  21. I'm with Dave - the emblem could be a Lancia
  22. Ford cast and sold "replacement" blocks without SN's - The usual ones to find are from 1923-27 era, but I'd assume earlier ones exist.
  23. 1-7/8 is a small radiator fitter - I'm thinking Maxwell used one that small, but I think Terry is right on with this one.
  24. Freedom of speech - it is what socialism does not allow. I do not think there is any restriction to these quotes - they show the personality of the person posting.
