  1. Wayne, I hope you bring it to Hershey. It will fit in nicely in the prototype class. You may want to add the correct period whitewalls.
  2. Terry, I bet you have mixed feelings about breaking your leg to get to see this series. Hope you heal soon.
  3. Also, post this on the Olds forums lower under the discussions.
  4. Day of show registration is welcomed. You can arrive any time before noon for the judging or entrance to the show.
  5. This event (rain or shine) is sponsored by the New Jersey Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) at The Mennen Arena. 161 East Hanover Avenue, Morristown, N.J. 07960. This is open to all vehicles 1992 and older. AACA style judging in 16 classes with trophies for 1st-3rd places. Gates open at 9:00 A.M. Pre-registered cars $10 by 4/28. Spectator Donation $3.00. Flea market, car corral, and food will be available. More information at www.njregion.aaca.com. 2017 Spring Meet application.pdf 2017 Spring Show Flyer.pdf
  6. I had my 61 Olds radio fixed by a friend in my antique radio club. One problem was the one transistor was bad. A replacement was $100, but a member had one he gave me for nothing. It is an AC Delco one, but there are equivalents available to it. I use an FM converter for FM.
  7. British Standard Whitworth (BSW) is one of a number of imperial-unit-based screw thread standards which use the same hexagonal bolt head and nut sizes, the others being British Standard Fine thread (BSF) and British Standard Cycle. These three are collectively called Whitworth threads. Santa uses North Pole left twists if I remember correctly. He has to plug in thought as he runs at 330W.
  8. No smart phone but I added an app to my air compressor so I know which way to turn the wrench on when I plug it it.
  9. Wayne, I know it works for SAE and metric. However, what about us who have British cars that use Whitworth. Perhaps, there is an accessory to the wrench for those who need that British standard. I am very disappointed that you did not include the British version. I do have a left handed Monkey wrench for Whitworth nuts so they do make them. Very surprised about how little you know about tools. Why this year for Xmas, Santa is bringing me a left handed T-shirt for the Monkey wrench. All you have to do is ask Gloria. This way I will know which hand to use with which tool, instead of having to guess all the time. Don't even start me on screwdrivers, let alone pneumatic grinders. To top it off when I use lug wrenches I have to guess which shirt I have to wear and when I do late 40's Chrysler products I go nuts so I hope you are happy.
  10. a fabric-softening sheet, added to a load of drying clothes
  11. Did Haggerty find that part yet for the 1901 Crosley rebuild?
  12. In Hemmings daily newsletter, they mention free vehicle kits for many Chevrolets, Cadilacs, and a few Oldsmobiles from the GM Heritage Center. They are in black and white but include sales literature, specifications, etc. E.G., for my 1968 Malibu, it has a 197 pages. The URL for it is: https://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2016/10/12/free-vehicle-information-kits-for-many-chevrolets-and-cadillacs-and-a-few-oldsmobiles/?refer=news
  13. I think somewhere I saw that it was about $50,000 so I will wait for Harbor Freight to get it down to a more affordable $25K.
  14. I have not seen this here before and hope I am not repeating a topic. YouTube has a video of the laser removing rust. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLaBFkeHG0A. However, I do not think Harbor Freight will have it any time soon. There is another blurb in Road and Track: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/classic-cars/videos/a30597/best-rust-remover-laser/.
  15. Hi, I thought that was you. I was the one with the 57 Chevrolet, India Ivory and Coronado Yellow. Hope you enjoyed the Glidden Tour. See you at Hershey possibly.
  16. Joe, did yo attend the Sentimental tour in Salisbury,NC this year?
  17. I have used DOT 3 synthetic brake fluid which is available at all auto part stores. It is water resistant and compatible with regular 3 and 4. It seems like a great compromise. Also, I have a 54 MG with silicone brake fluid and got 25 years out of it and I just replaced it with new fluid of the same kind after a complete rebuild of system.
