  1. 2021 coming to a close and USPS is back to “normal” after last Christmas’s disaster. I use them for just about everything and by and large they perform well. NTL, earlier this week I drove an hour to the main Hershey post office so the nice lady there could hand cancel my envelop and deposit it directly into the Hershey Region’s post office box. Then lunch at Jersey Mike’s next door and a quick stop at the museum. Nice exhibit of survivors. I wish the Region had a mail slot. Some things just cannot be left to chance.
  2. Interesting, my youngest son at 24 has a desire to own a full classic- in the truest sense. Time will tell if any become more affordable.
  3. Sorry, it’s not a car. It’s a Bill of Sale, dated 1928. It transferred ownership of W-K , Motor number 142635, manufacture’s number (VIN ?) 6996. IF you have a W-K, if any model or year- just send me a PM and it’s yours, postage free!
  4. I don’t know how he missed me sitting on the curb at my spaces in the Green field, right there in the shadow of light pole 118. The second picture is the same spot a year later. Let’s all meet there next October.
  5. ……I always thought it was corn meal, dang!
  6. Still like Walter the cat and the ridiculous tailgate; but his cousin sleeps on my lap.
  7. Robby: You will find more help on the Stovebolt page, a website devoted to early GM trucks. I have a ‘46 GMC truck and I buy and sell ‘41-‘46 Chevy and GMC parts. If you come to Hershey, you’ll find me in the Green Field at GAI 18-19, where several customers each year remark: “Do you know you’re the only vendor selling these parts?” There are aftermarket suppliers for many mechanical parts; and just recently the rear pickup fenders are being reproduced. You can check out Jim Carter Truck parts and Chevy’s of the 40’s. (Carter’s website is painful but his printed catalog is an excellent resource) Nice trucks. Most are being restored as hot rods but some are restored as originals. Good luck!
  8. Take a look at the switch Jim Carter Truck parts sells for the ‘37-‘52 Chevy panel truck. The easiest way is tho search eBay under 1937- 1952 panel truck/suburban rear door taillight switch.
  9. Nice guy. I met him once, at the huge “Archie” auction several years ago in Littlestown, PA. He was also quite involved with the Museum.
  10. Wow. They bumped our room to $187. That’s an increase of $308 for 4 nights. It pays to book early!
  11. Found this at Hershey. Not until I cleaned it up today did I discover the maker. I guess you bought yourself a horn out of the catalog. Are there folks who collect these things? I’d like to pass it along. Thanks.
  12. Sorry, I tried to add a better picture and managed to lose both. Working on it.
  13. This logo looks vaguely familiar, but ??? Ideas? Thanks,
  14. Update: We upgraded to a nice hotel in Hummlestown, next to Bob Evans. It’s currently $110 per night before taxes. For those of us in the green field, it’s an easy 10 minutes drive from the swap meet. Check it out before it’s gone.
  15. I bet this one is easy. 40’s Pontiac??? Thanks. I couldn’t refuse at that price!
  16. If you’ve been attending the Fall Meet for a decade or three; and you don’t sleep in your space as I did for many years; you’ve probably noticed the crazy prices area hotels charge for our week. Rooms that are ordinarily $100 a night magically jump to $200 or more. I have started looking for next years hotel room almost immediately after the event. Some booking services, such as Expedia, allow you to make a reservation one year in advance. Many of the hotels haven’t released their rooms yet, but I was able to get a decent room near the intersection of Union Deposit Road and 83 for $106/night. This includes free cancellation right up to the event and you don’t have to pay until you arrive, As the months go by, I’ll check occasionally for a better deal and/or location- but this is my hedge just in case. If you wait until next summer, you’ll probably wish you acted sooner. I wish we could start a chat about crappy hotels we’ve stayed in; but that would get somebody in trouble. Read those reviews- with a grain of salt- but read them!
  17. There was still enough vendors to keep us from starving. One in particular in the Green field had the best sausage sandwich I’ve had since I swore off the Red Hot Smokies at Carlisle events many years ago. Now if you want to talk about hardship- they moved the Dunkin Donuts tent from the Green field to the opposite side of that @&$?& Bridge into the Chocolate field. When you’re manning your vendor space by yourself and the DD is that far away, it leaves few options. I have to thank two brothers, one from Scranton and his brother from the UP of Michigan for bringing me a coffee on Thursday morning. You meet the nicest folks at Hershey!
  18. It seems it is a 1941 Pontiac trunk. I never thought about the arrows pointed down- that’s good. if anyone has a ‘41 Pontiac and wants the thing, it’s yours for the $9 cost of a priority mail box!
  19. I bought this locking door handle at Hershey and it’s not right for my car. It has no patent number do I guess it’s an older aftermarket repop. The keys kinda have a Chevy logo but inside the Bow tie it says KEIL. I am hoping the chevrons on the handle are the key. Any ideas? Thanks!
  20. You’re breaking my heart. I sell ‘46 Chevy truck parts; Robbie Wolfe owns one- and he never made it my space! After watching the show, you can tell which brother is really the car guy.
