They destroy the lines of the car. If you are taking the car on a tour then cool, otherwise no.

As time marches on I've let go of a bunch of mine. But I still have 100 wants left. Did you see the SC Beverly? -

You can make them reliable. The problem is people not completely understanding and rebuilding the system correctly. My dad’s car operated perfectly for 50 years. But once the original harness deteriorated, things went to crap. -

Every Car Nut should buy a copy of Jim’s book on the Doble. A two album set that is fantastic! -

Nothing that replacing the entire shift harness, selection switch, interlock switch, vacuum switcher, and 200 hours worth of work won’t make 99% reliable. -

There was a very hard to find short happening in the selection switch. I would find it in 10% of the time now that I understand what is going on. But back at the beginning it all looked like rocket science. -

I'm always fascinated by cities/towns in the middle of nowhere. When I was working in Idaho you would pass through a town that was 90 miles or more from anything else. It would be a "real" sort of place with a couple of churches, hardware store, diner, etc, with nothing around for miles. Always wondered how they survived economically. The Caddy is cool. I like his reference to other cars that have zero to do with what he is selling but, still a 3 window is always worthwhile. -

Unfortunately I was only in Albuquerque for a few days so I can't tell you much. High desert in that area reminds me of Utah and parts of Idaho. Personally, I'm more at home with big trees around me. -

These cars are off the charts on the cool scale. But like everything else projects are expensive. There is a tremendous amount of club support so you would not be alone. Here is a video I made a few years ago when I was trying to figure out a problem in the shifting system on our car: -

Awesome! This is a great car. You need to be able to do 90% of the work on your own. But perhaps a mechanical sorting and you’ve got a fantastic car. -

alsancle replied to Wayne R's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
In a slow market, auctions are the place that dealers get their inventory from. In a strong market, auctions are the place the dealer sell their inventory. The Buick at Barnum was a really nice car. -
Man do I wish I had this car back in HS instead of my 49. Some pictures show a windshield and one does not. You probably should indicate which one is current.
