  1. Orin, it is a sleeve valve straight six around 110 hp. But it was partially disassembled with missing parts. So you should assume 100 K right there. The interior was wrong. In the car was a much older restoration. But it was unbelievably cool.
  2. Don’t think the rain showed up until about 11 AM? At which point I was checking out of my hotel room. But nothing messes up the car show like rain. And I can’t imagine what that golf course would look like if it really got soaked.
  3. Walt, you are correct. 55C 300.
  4. I’m met the gentleman that is in this video with Jay in the hotel lobby at 5:30 AM this morning. He restored the car on his own. Definitely pretty cool.
  5. I have a friend who has a deposit on a Rivian. In fact, he was one of the very first in line. But because he doesn’t have a service center in his state, they have not delivered it yet. He is currently a Tesla owner. So we got to take a Ryan pick up for a ride. It was actually fairly impressive about 80% of the interior space of an F150. It has a smaller bed. With The extended batteries, good weather, and flat roads. It’ll go forward 420 miles.
  6. This was in the tour. And out on the field in the barn fine class. It is a 428 four-speed car from the factory.
  7. I wasn’t as much of an avid picture, taker, as I usually am. But here are a few. I wanted this C28 Voisin so badly I could taste it. Motor partially disassembled, some pieces missing, but insanely spectacular car. It more or less sold for peanuts relative to what they have sold for in the past.
  8. Ed and I are here. Actually, I’m about to get on a plane to go home. Weather this week was not great in Amelia. Also, I’m sure many you are aware that RM moved its auction and started a show in Miami this weekend. Which I think took a bit of an of the edge off the show. broad Arrow and Gooding had very good sales. Some surprisingly strong results. As usual there are a lot of interesting cars out on the field. Although not as many of the big pre-war Classics that I’m interested in as they are in Miami.
  9. I need to see pictures of both cars.
  10. The list of cars in participants for the All-American should be available somewhere. Also look at the pictures of my car towards the end of the thread. You can see that it has the all American numbering stickers on it. Your car should have those also if it raced. They don’t come off easily, and mine are still onto this day.
  11. That car is 1.5 million to restore these days. But I agree that all in the owner is probably in OK shape given the $4 million retail price for the same car perfectly restored. Of course, poor color selection, the wrong restorer, or other factors could screw up this equation.
  12. Certainly a very cool car. Although it is not a preservation car, it does need a tremendous amount of work. I don’t know who the new owner is, but I congratulate him, and I hope to see the car when it is completely restored.
  13. That is cool. He was in Akron the same year I was there. Of course I don’t remember anything about it. Or remember the car. However, I’m sure there were many local newspaper articles at the time. I was in a bunch of them as it was a relatively big deal back then.
  14. We have 60-year-old leather interiors that look like new from Lexol. Applied once a year.
  15. Is there a period picture of this car somewhere?
  16. Post pictures of it otherwise everybody is just guessing.
  17. I believe that is the only V16 with wheel disks. At least it’s the only one I have seen.
  18. Btw, it is killing me not to dump on the guy with the "calling Jay Leno" comment. Honestly, do people think?
  19. Why would it be inappropriate? That is cool. Good luck.
  20. https://straight-eight.com/product/king-seeley-hobson-fuel-gauge-red-fluid/ Buy a couple of bottles.
  21. Nice mock up with Jag wheels. Wonder if anything is actually bolted together?
