So Cal vs South Carolina. Gas in So Cal is over $4 per gallon. Temperatures in So Cal are around or over 100 degrees and forest fires are not uncommon. South Carolina gas is $3.04 per gallon, temperatures are between 85 and 95 with nice afternoon rains and forest fires are rare. It is not difficult for me to choose. Ed

Does anyone know of a source for tape that is a close match to that used on the Reatta shifter? I need to replace mine before I head to South Bend in July.

If a coupe, it is along the frame rail on the passenger side just about under the footwell. If a convertible it is on the same side, but back near the left rear wheel. Release fuel pressure before disconnecting to keep from getting a face full of fuel. Hope this helps. Ed

You could also go to Reatta.net and print off the brake test. Take the test and it may also point to the problem or confirm the accumulator is bad.

Ditto. Hook up a mechanical gauge. I would be surprised if your oil pressure was that low unless you have a totally worn out engine. If you find it a little low you might try 10W40 synthetic oil.

Years ago when I was doing a total restoration on my Austin Healey, I had an old fellow tell me that car wiring harnesses were built with internal smoke and if you ever let that smoke out you were in for trouble. I am confident you need a new IPC. You can purchase a used one or send yours off for rebuild. Either way you are looking at at between $100 and $150 dollars. They are easy to install.

Tom, I do not think it sold. Looks like two offers below $8,000 were declined. I saw the car in Charlotte and it was a really nice looking car. Regardless what some think about Reatta values, I think it is every bit an $8,000 car. Ed

Ervin, I am sure that will be done, but probably not by an officer. Barney is the most likely candidate since he already knows a great deal of the history. He also has the contacts at GM to help fill in the blanks. Keep your eye out for the article in a future Bugle. Ed

Hypothetical question, so what does it matter? At worst it might only be a point out of 400. Everyone knows how you feel about 400 point judging and that you will not enter your car. Besides officially there are no standing judges.

Very rare dealer showroom window trim introducing the 1988 Reatta. This window decal is 4' x 6' and is in the original mailing tube. It was postmarked January 14, 1988 from GM to John Brown Buick in Slidell, LA. It is rolled in protective paper and is in mint condition. A lot of talk and not much action. Let's not wait until the last minute to sign up for the meet or the Rendezvous. It takes some planning to put on an event and known numbers are important. The meet is less than a month away and most normal folks should know their schedule by now.

I don't see how he could do better on the IPC unless he found someone giving them away. Maybe there is a new government program???
