My first Buick that I drove to work was a 1956 Special 2 dr sedan . ( 1961 ) It had the stock 322 with added four barrel and 56 dual exhaust manifolds and switch pitch DYNAFLOW " The story behind the one wire wheel is funny ! I work at an ESSO station at nights and Saturday . A guy pulls in the station in a 58 white LIMITED CONV . I only had three wire wheels at the time . HE said " WANT TO SELL THOSE WHEELS ?" I said " NO , I'm looking for another one ". He opened his trunk and said " I buy your three or you buy my wheel !" That wheel cost me a full weeks part time pay $ 30.00 but I had my 4th wire ! Bill

Hi Doug, Yep its for the 55 . My right fender has some curb rash at the bottom ,not bad . The NOS fender has a coating of cardboard "spray- on " protection ???? Never saw one have this coating . Bill

NOS 55 fender on Ebay in Michigan , emailed Roberta if anyone near flint could pickup the fender and bring it to one of the Buick meets. Roberta said I can do that . And so the fender started a long trip from Flint to Oswego, NY then to New Freedom PA by Roberta's brother Ted and then to Timonium ,Md . I had to drive almost 15 whole miles ( LOL )to pick up the fender . This is what the Buick club people will do to help others !! Thanks Roberta and Ted ! The fender safe at its new home . If anyone has a copy of " inside Buick " dealing with the REATTA , there are many pictures of the REATTA team Merkel in shown in there along with the Reatta Team . # 4 is not Merkel and I could be wrong about him being #5 , I don't know Fusile . Bill

No. 5 is Robert Merkel . Good idea with the #'s Bill

Seated left of center ( blue suit ) is Robert Merkel . I think he was part of the overseas development team He lived here in Baltimore Md and work for GM before landing a job in Detroit ( Cadillac ) and then going with the Reatta development team overseas . He gave me one of the original pins made for the team . Great Guy ! Bill

Thanks for the pics. That place is amazing, the resto shop and all the shops plus the different makes and models . I could spent a week in that place . I had trouble with my 55 Century clone at the last minute and decided not to trailer the car , that was a big mistake !!!! Bill

Look at the size of the tires on the 55 chips car . They are not even close to the original 7.10x 15 The look like 8.00's to me bill

Gab , They are new from GM . They will fit your wheels as long as you have the original Buick chrome wheels , Bill
