  2. Hi, We have a '62 Monza Coupe with factory air. Just returned from a 1200 mile trip to New England with it. Bill and Grace Boudway
  3. Many years ago, I was working the Red Field, now the site of the outlet stores, early in the morning. I looked at the parts that were being used to hold down a vendor's tarps and discovered a complete set of spare tire holders for our Packard Twin Six. The only set that I've seen in over 40 years of searching. Needless to say, it didn't take long to close the deal. $30.00 made the vendor and me very happy. It must have been a lucky day, as a few minutes later I found a pair of headlights, complete with bulbs, connectors and lenses for the car for $35.00. Years later, I was able to close a deal in the Chocolate Field for four Packard Twin Six fenders. $275.00.for all four. The vendor was anxious to sell to make room for the return trip home. Then there was the pair of NORS head gaskets for $15.00. It helps that the car is rare enough that folks don't know what they have.

  5. My friend has a PullRite hitch that has some superior design features. Not cheap, but worth the money in my book. PullRite has a SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER designed hitch for you
  6. As every year, yes. I'm stocking up on Moxie for Thursday's tasting event. 4:00 PM, Space C2I-44
  7. Hi, Our '26 Chrysler G-70 phaeton isn't a classic, but I drove it to a nearby village to meet with a fellow who just pulled his '26 Chrysler I-52 runabout out of winter hibernation. Nice sunny day for a ride into the country. The pair attracted lots of attention.
  8. We had five young girls from a community near here who would be alive today if they knew the penalties for texting while driving. Head on into a semi.
  9. I doubt very much that the ethanol in today's gas has anything to do with this.
  10. OK. From what I remember, you should put on the final coat within two days to get chemical adhesion to the primer. Perhaps you need to re-shoot the primer. Can anyone verify this?
  11. Hi, Phil Bray can help here. He makes rear axle sets for nearly any vehicle. Currently advertising a set for Packard for about $2,200.00 Address: Phil Bray 8858 Ferry Rd Grosse Ile, MI 48138-2195 Phone: (734) 676-5520
  12. Hi, What year Dodge are we talking about here? I had some mixed for our '25 DB sedan years ago and might be able to find the code.
  13. So sorry to get that news. You and your family are in our prayers.
  14. Hi, It's actually a rim "unspreader". It clamps onto a split rim and pulls one side in to reduce the diameter and allow for tire removal. Then it can be reversed to spread the rim back into the tire. Not fun, but it works.
  15. Temperature in the high 40's I drove the '26 Chrysler to my fitness class and ran out of gas in front of the local marina, one of two sources of ethanol free here in Canandaigua(4.39/gallon). $50.00 later, back on my way uptown.
  16. Hi, I'll be in "Rustchester"on Friday. Let me know if I can help. (585) 394-6172
  17. Hi, Probably Early Dodge Brothers 1922-1926? Go to their club website to get more accurate info, and also a value.
  18. Hi, Did you find a wheel puller yet for this job? Please send me a PM
  19. The '26 Chrysler likes the cool weather. I'll get it out and take a couple of turns around the block.
  20. Hi, Good news!! The piston (1947 Evinrude 1 1/2 HP outboard) came loose today. I used the following potions: ATF, PB Blaster, Castle Thrust, Kano Kroil and CLR, in that order. The next thing would have been to get some dry ice for the inside of the piston. The bad news is that I didn't clean out between applications, so don't know what did the job. Sorry, but I'm guilty of conducting the experiment with bad controls. Good luck.
  21. Hi, I tried ATF and blaster, but no luck. Next will be citric acid. I'll keep you posted.
  22. Worked on cleaning up the rough Twin Six hood latch castings to prepare for nickle plating. Replaced the LF signal lamp on the '26 Chrysler. No snow here, so can't get the annual "Chrysler on snow" photo. Photo is from 2010
  23. Hi, Recommendation here from a 3-BMW owner. (No, not all at one time) Get the car to a recommended, local, independent import mechanic and spend the money to have him (or her) tell you what surprises are in store for you. First item is when and at what mileage the timing belt was replaced. Next is: Where is the rust? Good luck.
  24. Hi, How will this be received by our stated value insurance carriers with whom we have agreed to limit our annual mileage to 2000 miles or less?
  25. Hi, Not Chrysler, as they would have brake drums on the fronts as well as the rears. Good luck
