    4 door?

I've probably seen a dozen of these old Dodges sitting around that were missing the decklid. The fact that you have it,I guess it's your body, the thing is pretty straight, not terribly rusted out is a real plus if you wanted to build a car out of it. There's probably one sitting around that was cut off and made into a pickup in the early days that you wouldn't have to mortgage the farm for and be a really good start on one of these good ol' dependable Dodges. They are pretty sharp with the disc wheels.
  3. I appreciate the note. I looked in the Car Spotters Guide and couldn't see them on anything pictured. Goes to show tho, even a year and a half later things still get attention.
  4. I believe that is a horsedrawn buggy cap.
  5. Would a 53 Super or Roadmaster LR quarter panel do you any good?
  6. It's really a nice set. The wood bows look like they were just fitted and installed. They went to the trouble of making a spacer for the lower end so they couldn't warp. It seems funny to me that someone would go to that time and expense to do a partial set of touring bows to fit a roadster. Is there any history on the previous owner, what he was into, what cars he,or she,had in their collection, etc? Where the set came from? I personally think it's an original roadster top frame.
  7. Very similar to some Franklin headlights.
  8. Unless you're in a terrible hurry,I would give people a little more time to look through their buckets, boxes and bins of bolts. Those originals don't have that collar under the head for no reason. And most bolts these days are zinc plated so while you're heatin and beatin I suggest you avoid breathing that vaporized metal coming off of them.

    top Saddles

A lot of it is how they attach to the body and also whether the mounting comes off the top, center or bottom of the saddle.
  10. Maybe this truck tangled with bigfoot and that's why it's in the shape it's in.
  11. I think 14 or earlier Cadillac
  12. This is in the 100 block of West 18th street downtown Cheyenne,Wyoming,North side of street, if anyone wants to drive by and check it out. Antique mall called the Eclectic Elephant.
  13. It's up,got the wheels and tires on it now,but still not quite finished. There were all kinds of city requirements they had to adhere to but my nephew is a contractor which helped. The headlights will light up eventually and some filling behind it still has to be done. Isn't there someone that can use all the good sheetmetal and other parts leftover?
  14. It's "change" Peter,I doubt I can even come close to explaining what a nightmare it is for some of us. When do they start kids on these electronic devises these days,2nd grade? I didn't get it in 1953. I've only been texting for three or four years, when Union Wireless updates my phone to make it so much better for me,LOL,I can no longer text and send a picture at the same time,I have to go down to Union and have them show me how. There is a Richie Bros Auction just down the road. If I want to see if they have an enclosed trailer I might be interested in online,it's either everything they have or just trailers in every auction they have all over the world that I come up with. I've contacted them on it but they don't get it. I was down there once and the counter lady went through it but too fast and I got nothing out of it. So,they don't sell me a trailer when otherwise they might have. My daughter has to come over and save me on this computer on a regular basis. Computer geniuses design this stuff, they should have someone like me trying to navigate it all while looking over their shoulder, see why it's confusing to them, and take some steps to simplify it.
  15. There was a report awhile back, don't remember where I heard it or read it,about a couple that went out to buy a classic Mustang,it was $30,000 cash only, the guy didn't have any car, killed them and took their cash. He was quickly traced and caught because of the calls and emails, and probably in prison for many decades. So you have to be pretty careful. In some instances and locations you can hire an off-duty cop or sheriff deputy to go along. Different circumstances but for many years I owned an old bldg across town. Crummy motel next door changed hands and they started renting to people with dogs, told the people to just go next door to walk them. Dog poop built up,I put up signs, ran people off, nothing helped. So I hired an off-duty cop that was sympathetic,if they walked over there, the dog took a dump and they didn't pick it up,he wrote them a $150 ticket. Sometimes he would be on the property, sometimes across the street, after he cited seven or eight people, that dog-walking there came to a screeching halt.
  16. You are not alone. Who in the hell dreams up this updated shit.
  17. Looks like the key says De Soto Chuck, maybe that's a clue on what the thing fits.
  18. Wouldn't it be fun to find out who some of these scammers are and where they live, then have a bunch of collectors in the area park in the street in front of his house, blocking traffic and creating a big scene until the cops come and find out why? Anyway, good luck Pete in finding that piece, wish I had one to send you. Steve G.
  19. An old timer once told me years ago,if we were taking a short trip into town,we would take the Model T,but if we were going on a longer trip,we would take the Dodge Bros because of the endurance and dependability of the thing. And your car does not have rocker arms that need oiling,if it were me,I would not put it back on,at least in a functioning way.
  20. Looks like International truck.
