  1. Wife: I told you to sell that damn car. Husband: I’m trying.
  2. Near me there is a local repair shop that had been a transmission repair specialist since the early 1950’s. A few years ago after an ownership change they looked around and decided since the transmission rebuilding business has become more of a remove and replace operation that they needed to change their business model. They converted into an “all cars” shop. They still do newer vehicles but much more older ones as there are a lot of them around here. They have done a few jobs for me to my satisfaction including a trans service on my Volare. I see a lot of cars there so business is good it seems.
  3. From my understanding a rare car with parts availability issues except for basic mechanical ones. Looks like a potential money pit of biblical proportions. Even if I wanted one I doubt this would be it.
  4. In Illinois anything older than 1996 is exempt from testing in areas where tests are done.
  5. I can’t help but think many high end cars are not really bought to be driven much if any. Mostly garage or museum art. Impress my poorer friends.
  6. A bit rough but the price reflects it. Drive and fix at your leasure.
  7. It does look good. Not sure of the need for discs unless you live in the mountains but the other upgrades are reasonable.
  8. I agree. As long as you aren’t in a hurry to get anywhere.
  9. You know although I do like cars, especially old ones, I cannot comprehend the drive to have the “best” most expensive car/truck ever made. After all these are toys no matter how much they cost. And available cash determines money for toys. I just cannot get the image of Wealthy folks just playing a game of one up man ship in cars as in so much else. Boats, homes, resorts, etc. A case of look at me, see what I got that you don’t. I rarely ever even look at ads for cars out of my league since dreaming about the impossible is not really what I do. I don’t disagree that folks can buy what they like and do what they want with it. I just don’t care.
  10. I always liked the early Barracudas. Especially the Formula S version. My fat gut tells me it might be overpriced for a six three speed. And with no manual trans training included I don’t know.
  11. Langdons Stovebolt used to sell them. I don’t know what he has left as he was “retiring” a couple of years ago. His site is still active as far as I know.
  12. My gut tells me to count your bank account and then double it. I have never seen one. In any condition.
  13. Poor thing looks exhausted. Definitely over priced and certainly poorly shown. As Fossil says, the hemi provenance can only carry so much weight.
  14. I own a car that has been in several movies and TV shows. Never got a notification of an increase in value because of it. And mid 50’s Plymouths don’t seem to be interesting to many folks.
  15. At least the owner doesn’t have “Delusions of Grandeur” regarding the price.
  16. You have a very nice SW there. I love wagons having owned a couple in the 70’s. Never an Olds but I like yours very much.
