  1. It looks like you could simply turn the intake manifold and around and mount a downdraft carb.... and it is a very good price for a unmolested driver ..... very fair price... nice 8 cylinder Buick....
  2. Very fair price.... just put it back together and go through the brakes, repair the top and drive it as ..... a driver....... 8 cylinder.... NICE...!!!
  3. PK.... here is a nice original...1928 model A Phaeton.... in real good condition... for $14,500 It has been for sale for over a year.. so you could probably get it for less...... NO rust.... needs a little tinkering to get running again.... link below...... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1928-ford-phaeton.1176949/
  4. If it was an older restoration... with nice interior and good paint and the brakes, engine and steering redone... then the price would be right... but as is.... about $8K would be a fair price..
  5. Nothing on the back seat, except a blanket draped over the back..... there are window and door handles in the floor, missing from front and rear regulators.... nice car... decent price.....
  6. It looks like there is a board sticking out between the top of the windshield and the top itself... it is way to big to be a visor.... and not attached to anything.... Odd and why don't people uncover the entire car.. and take decent photos.... if they really want to sell it...??
  7. That is not a mirror... it is a port hole from a boat/ship... being used as a windshield... it is not a Rat Rod either... it is someone's Idea of being cute or clever... a running JOKE......
  8. It is a good thing that it has so little power, and does not go very fast.. because it has those small 9" brake drums.. and has very poor braking ability..... A slower pace of life .... back in the late 40's..... no hurries & no worries... we just ended the long war and the men were back home again,,, heading into the 50's..... LIFE was GOOD back then....
  9. At least... you could copy and paste the craigslist address..... then you can copy and paste the photos right off of the craigslist, while it is up on your computer screen......
  10. I will play too..... 1st photo......my 1928 Chevrolet 1 ton farm flat bed, bought in southern Colorado in 1990 for $600 .....from behind an old rancher's Barn Photo #2 &3 After I built it into an Oak bodied Motor Home.... with a V6 engine, 5 speed tranny and modern hydraulic Brakes..... Lived in it for 2 years, traveled from Canada, all over the western states, down into Arizona.... and sold it for $45K in 1999....
  11. Worst way to try to sell something..... who owns it..?? How much do they want for it....? where is it located....?? and of course what condition is it in....? what work has been done to it...???
  12. I have owned and driven one alot... if you are tall (over 6 ft, or heavy, over 200 lbs).... you will feel very uncomfortable in the drivers seat... and the fiberglass body, does not feel as solid and long lasting as real steel.... the engine and running gear are easy to drive and easy to get parts for... and very reliable But the replica will NOT give you the wonderful feeling of stepping back in time.. to a much slower pace of life... which is one of the major pleasures of driving a Real vintage car...
  13. Very nice car ....... with a very fair price... a good driver, and a very nice paint job... If I had the money.... I would be driving it home...
  14. Dr. Hedberg.... We are not devaluing your car..... we are looking at it closely... and noticing that it has plywood on the roof and that it is parked with the windows open.... and that those cheap blue, woven plastic tarps leak and last only a few months outside..... The car may run well... but the condition of the body, and probably the interior/roof... show us that the market value is about half of the $10,000 you are asking..... If you Truly want to sell 'her' before you move..... place your ads here and on Craigslist for $5K.... and see what type of response you get.... Believe it or not.... we are trying to help you sell your car.... while trying to give you a realistic idea of the market value of such a car...... I bought this flawless 1928 dodge for $5k.... a few years ago... it was in mush better condition than yours.... Best of luck with your sale...
  15. Thanks, for your advise, and comments..... I owned a 1930 Franklin 4 door sedan... that weighed right at 4,000 lbs..... it would cruse at 50-55 mph all day long..... and in real rough dirt roads is was very smooth..... The AA truck weighs 2,800 lbs and If I put about a half ton in it, it would weigh about the same as the Franklin sedan....... The AA has strong radius rods that keep the axles steady.... and the Full Elliptic springs could easily be mounted on brackets fabricated to the frame and axles..... Add some coil over shocks and you have a good stable, floating-like ride on rough roads.... The model A &AA transverse front and rear springs... give a poor, rough ride on pot holed, washboard, dirt roads... that is the reason most cars & trucks of that same Era, used four, half elliptic, leaf springs... giving a much better ride than any Model A or AA Ford...... I can not afford to have a professional spring shop, fabricate the mounting perches and brackets for parallelly mounted leaf springs....... I know there are may opinions about what to do or not do... and how to best do it.... But, this posting is asking if anyone has some Franklin, or now, Stanly Steamer,.... Full Elliptic Springs..... For Sale...???
  16. I know the Franklins had them front & back.... giving them a very smooth ride..... in very rough roads. Did other makes have the Full Elliptic springs...?? If so, What makes and what years..?? If anybody has some extra spare sets of the Full Elliptic springs.... I am interested in buying some..... my Model AA has a very stiff, back braking, jolting ride,..... on washboard, country dirt roads..... and I am seeking a smoother ride for it..... Please contact me if you have some springs you might sell me... thanks, Sunny 505-990-6008

Ok... First I will say.. these are not going onto a Franklin... I am building my own chassis and running gear.... so I was hoping to get some springs from the heavier models of Franklins .... about 2,500 lbs. to 3, 700 lbs. So I was hoping that someone with Franklin parts, might tell me what type and size of springs you have.. (length, width and number of leafs).... photos of them would help me know if they will work for my project..... . Thank you, Sunny sunnybabaspirit@yahoo.com

Thanks for the advice Walt..... I would like to actually have front and rear... (4 sets ) of springs from a Franklin series 14,15,16, or 19, but would consider earlier series as well... It would also be nice to have the spring perches as well and the mounting bolts, if you have those as well .....
