If it is a 5 speed as the ad says... then it is not the stock transmission....

The link does not work for me either... that huge rearview mirror in your face blocks your right side road view..... and the seat looks as uncomfortable as a model A pickup seat....... the shinny metal background that the gauges are mounted in, will create a glare that makes the gauges hard to read at a glance.... Not a well engineered vehicle...

Craig... thank you for going to all the trouble ... to take photos and answer our questions..... about this unusual 4X4 Cadillic.... many of us wanted to know how the adaptations, were made to get it to be what it now is.... good luck on your sale.....

Very interesting front axel and Hub.... Not out of an early Jeep... I wonder what vehicles had a 4X4 front axel that looked like that... in the late 30's or early 40's...... The manual hub for putting the front axel into gear is only on one side.. (only one hub is turned to free or engaged) ....... could you also show the shift lever for the transfer case in the cab.... and it would probably show better and sell better if you cleaned out the desert pack rat nests from the interior... empty it out & clean it up some on the interior... so that the wood framework can be seen.... The doors do not appear to be sagging.. even the one that is open... the desert dryness has probably preserved the wood in sound condition... It may not be in such bad shape.... cleaning it out would answer a lot of questions....

That is a pretty harsh comment.... we all know the quality of cars that you deal with and work on... so I understand where your opinion is coming from.... But... what if.... someone wanted a 4X4 vintage driver.... not original, and not preserved in original condition..... just a funky, unique, old beater ..... that was four wheel drive... for off road, back road use..... it also has historical interest, to some folks...... for sure, one of a kind, homemade 4X4...... looks like very little rust actually..... and who knows the condition of the running gear.... but it could be salvageable.... and drive-able..... just for fun... not for looks.... some of us like the funky... old, heavily used..... hillbilly look.....

Craig... I have a question... If you look in the driver's compartment... is there a second shift lever on the floor for the four wheel drive.... Is it always in four wheel drive?? ..... or is there a transfer case, with a second shift lever to put it 4X4 or two wheel drive...??? does it have hydraulic or cable brakes....??? you can tell by looking for the hoses or the cables that go in the backing plates, behind the wheels.....

Photos of the engine and bed would be appreciated.... and more info about the machinal condition of the running gear would be helpful..... the body looks like it is in excellent condition... nice truck for a reasonable price....

Or..... change out the transmission, and drive it as is..... with a thin wallet...

Some Questions.... Where are the trucks located now..?? is the green one finished and ready to drive...?? and does the red one start, run well and drivable now...?? and could you please tell us what value you would like to receive for each truck individually and as a joined sale...?? Very interested in them...

I guess none of you older guys ... do any car camping... it would have room for a bed and a two burner cook top... and you could sleep and eat in it... and do that at shows or tours... instead of spending a bunch of money on hotels & restaurants........ how about a fishing and camping trip...??

The 3 speed transmission.. looks to be out of the jeep too... meaning it will have a synchromesh transmission.... look at the shift lever in the photos... it is way forward of the emergency brake..... sitting almost horizonal..... both engine and transmission are very practical upgrades... if you want this to be simply a Driver...

What kind of engine has the water hose coming into the center of the head like that... and a down draft carb...??? what model & year engine is that...?? and... the radiator is a transplant as well....

Price $6,500 in Washington State...

Asking $4,700.... could probably get just the body & frame for $2500...... doesn't hurt to ask....

I contacted the owner, and asked if it was drive able... and ready to be on the road... He said it needs a starter & generator.... you could probably get it for $12K....

Let us know... does it run and drive...?? do you have the hood...?? is the top in decent condition..?? tell us all you know about the car, and what has been done to it ....???

Come on seller... If you want to sell it.... take the time to show the engine, interior, all four sides and that may spark more interest...
