  1. I haven’t visited this site in a long time. I got an email that this thread started back up again. Let me get this straight, are the Aussie bushings that James is selling at the inflated price the same bushing that the Aussies said would be cheaper than any bushing offered by current supplies??
  2. No re-pop’s. Check with @abandghe might have some
  3. Call Steve Lorenzen (812) 207-3403 He rebuilt mine. Hell have your answer.
  4. I found what looked like a factory spacer under my driver rear coil spring before I rebuilt the suspension. I assumed it was from old sagging springs. Once rebuilt with ALL new suspension my car sat uneven. So I slipped the spacer back in. I didn’t care to take car to frame shop. It doesn’t look bent but who knows. The spacer did the trick
  5. Don’t know about the “groan” but the first thing I thought of about the “chirp” was a loose/worn belt under the hood. Check your belts for wear & tightness
  6. Good Q. I don’t know the specifics on Joe’s 183 grams. Nor am I qualified in this area. I did mentioned to him that 183 grams sounded like a lot. But that was only comparing his outcome to the measly 10 (ten) grams my 401 was off by. I can tell u that at 10 grams I felt the vibration & hated it. Give me a couple more weeks & I’ll be posted my rebuild process
  7. Nailheads require entire lower assembly to be balanced together (crank, pistons, connecting rods, end caps, bearings, H balancer & flex plate).
  8. @RivNutdid U find the correct size clips? Did u figure out how many we need? Were the CARS clips correct? I am now in need of a whole set of round clips too. Any direction would be appreciated
  9. He can rebuild yours or use it as a core. U may have done that already
  10. This is him… https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-65-BUICK-RIVIERA-GS-CLAMSHELL-HEADLIGHT-ACTUATOR-HEADLAMP-MOTOR-/334380912869?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  11. I can check on my car when I get home tonight. I think the top piece is sandwiched between dash & column. U might have to loosen the steering column so it comes down a bit
  12. Your heavy duty fan clutch isn’t broken. It’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. I did a write up about this on my build thread. Switch it back to a standard clutch & you’ll be happy Here are screen shots & a part number for the standard fan clutch u need
  13. If your not in a hurry…take your time & do it yourself. If your in a hurry, pay someone. If your wife is like Ed’s, go for the team effort concept. If she’s like mine, stop considering it 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. Every thread on here goes in different directions
  15. Maybe your thermostat is intermittently sticking & not allowing coolant to circulate then it finds a way out somewhere??
  16. Doug, thank u so much for your generous offer. But I will have to pass. Hopefully someone else can benefit
  17. I’m interested. I don’t have carpet 😬. Rolling Rat Rod like. 😆 Edit: I’m in SoCal. How do I estimate shipping? I sent u a PM
  18. My upholstery guy said not to bother with the 63/64 foam when I asked if we could mod them. Like Bob said, my guy will be “cooking” up some foam for me too. Try asking a couple of other upholsterers in your area.
  19. I think @buickboneheadwas making them at one point. He also made the bitchen all steel horn bars. His metal & chrome guy stopped producing quality products. He talked about looking for other guys to work with. Hit him up. Maybe he’s found new guys u can also try @abandg. He’s got tons of parts
  20. Use the search function. I had to fix my glovebox door too & I did a little writeup. Maybe there something in there that’ll help u
  21. Yes. Felt on both halves. Like your picture #1 & on the back half which the air duct hose attaches to. Then the chrome ball will be sandwiched between the felt on both halves. Set the tightness by pushing the two halves together against the chrome ball & tighten the set screw
  22. Start a new thread. U might have better luck with an answer to your question
  23. u are probably right. I didn’t ask. I only assumed. U know what assuming does 😆
