  1. I don't see any Monte Carlos ( base model or SS ) anymore around my area.... I had people at an intersection waiting for the light to change ask if I want to sell it...lol Hagerty keeps sending me emails about increasing the replacement value on it, something I need to look in.
  2. Thanks Kerry...... yeah that lady stopped by with her husband and started to ask a lot of questions about the car.... nice people!
  3. Thanks Dave, I appreciate it..... I'm not sure if it's rare combination.....the owners of the other Monte Carlos at the show came around and commented that they really never seen one with a grey interior like mine, just the maroon like theirs and I'm not sure about the T-tops, if they are rare or not..... Thanks for asking
  4. I would like to know if any of the membership video tape the show cars entering the show field or exiting the show....my daughter who is serving in the Navy could not attend the show and would like to see the show cars if a tape was available. Thanks !
  5. If you went to a great restaurant while here during the show, list them here...on our third night here, we went to a Steakhouse just down the road from where we were staying - the food was excellent and we plan on returning again next year. * Dodge City Steakhouse 1037 Paxton Street, Harrisburg Steve

  7. Just got home from Hershey this afternoon. Just wanted to say how much my wife, son and I enjoyed the show! We met a few friends and made new ones, everyone ( volunteers, vendors, security and judges ) were so nice to us ! This was our first trip down and first showing of my Monte Carlo SS in the HPOF category. We will be back next year ! Steve & Janel
  8. We are heading down tomorrow, are we allowed to view the auction vehicles ? ( What building was that ? ) Sorry for the questions, first timer..... Steve
  9. Looking for 1967 thru 1972 Chevrolet Truck tail gate....for my 1969 3/4 ton fleetside... Thanks
  10. I'm looking for a poster board of a Monte Carlo SS ( street version ) next to a Nascar #3 Monte Carlo on the high banks of a track, the size is 32x18... the picture below is a magazine advertisement, but the same vehicles... I've search both Goodyear and Chevrolet. Thanks
  11. I'm north of the city, but my younger brother went down to lower Manhattan with the Sheriff's Department to help with traffic control with getting heavy equipment in and out of the site....so far he has not come down with any of the 9/11 illnesses to date.... Steve
  12. Well it's one way to eliminate tailgaters !
  13. 22 years, seems like it was yesterday.... thanks for allowing me to post. Steve ( Ex-Chief, North Highlands Engine Company, New York )
  14. Yes, I've only been driving it on short runs... to the local Home Depot when I needed to pick up something or down to the local coffee shop....all of which are a few miles from my home.... the drive into work the other day was the longest that I have driven the truck, about 22 miles round trip. Steve
  15. Good point Gary.... I had 1/4 tank and I just filled it with Sunoco 93 high octane last week....that's one thing with this big block compared to my old truck that had the 350 in it, it goes thru the gas
  16. Storm coming thru the area at this time, so I'm back in the garage.....I only pulled three... they only have 100 miles on them.....
  17. Ok.... I'm off for the next few days, so I should get to it.... Thanks !
  18. Glenn - I just checked the log book, oil change / full tune up was done in the Fall of 2021, it's been driven 100 miles since. I'm down a quart - maybe a quart 1/2.... I don't see anything on the exhaust ( new exhaust was installed in Fall of 2021 as well) . Driving along, you don't smell anything in the cab, that's why I was surprise to hear about the motorist that pulled up next to me.... now that I think of it, on the drive home, normally people are riding my tail, but they were at least 10 car lengths behind me....
  19. My truck engine is a 396 BB, it has about 88,000 miles on it. I have noticed on start up, it smokes a little until it warms up. Well the other morning, I decided to drive the truck to work - no issues. On the drive home, while at a red light, the driver next to me yelled and said that "a burning odor is coming from your truck". I can do basic maintenance on my vehicles, but if it came to an engine rebuild, I'm out of my league. So for the experts here, does this sound like a possible rebuild ? Just as a note, the truck's performance is great, so I was a little surprise the hear about the odor.
  20. I'm taking the wife, my youngest son and the Monte Carlo....everyone is excited to go ! Steve
