  2. I put a 2 1/6" tach where the clock is,perfect fit.
  3. Those look like the replacements I used,as Ed said my last tooth on originals was missing
  4. The new gears I replaced in mine were brass,old gears were worn.Have worked great science replaced.
  5. I used the sliders from vintage air (there tech department was very helpful)on my 63.The kit they sent me is 1961-62 Chevrolet impala control panel conversion kit 471062.Follow Ray's instructions,he was very helpful with my instulation.
  6. I feel the same way Jim,all I do is cruise and dont really travel that much on two lane roads.If something would happen to the trans I thought where would I get it fixed.The old (if it's not broke).

I had a longtime shop here in my home town rebuild mine about 8 years ago.I bought all the new parts from centerville auto (russ martin).The mechanic here talked to russ for tips on rebuild,he has a list on his web site on the dos and don'ts of the nailhead.Have about 10,000 miles on it with no problems.Mines a 63 425.

  10. Got the same kit for christmas,problobly same time frame.From what I remember we had the mack truck,corvette,jag and ?.This is problobly were this addiction all started.

Ron something to think about,when I ordered my gen 4 system directly from vintage air it took 15 weeks to get it (this year).They sent me there catalog that has all the parts you will need to complete your project.With your one time shipping dellema,i can problobly let you know what you'll need since you'll have to use a generic gen 4.They dont make a plug and play system for our cars,mines a 63.
  12. What's the pipe on the drivers door for?(with glove)
  13. If it's not leaking inside,it might be at the firewall hose hookups.Could be loose or crushed O ring.The instructions are not to over tighten O ring fittings.If it's not coming out of your drain hose its problobly at the firewall junction.T.N. ROA 12969
  14. When I drained mine I used a shop vach for high volume air on top hose,if I remember right I got 22oz out of the drivers side and 44oz out of passengers.

  16. I believe Jim is right.Saw him at the Branson meet,my car was running warm on the way down and he suggested my radiator was problobly the reason.On the way home it ran 230 degrees at 50 mph.Got home and had the radiator recored,it now runs about 195.

  18. When I rebuilt my engine I left the trans in.63 425 with dynaflo,dont know if your trans bolt up would be differant
  19. Ed is correct,when I used a vintage air alternator bracket I had to clock mine because it was to close to the exhaust.You can do it yourself,very easy.I didn't know either until bulldog driver schooled me on it.
